The Washington Post reports Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Joe Saunders didn't make it out of the fourth inning during his start in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series Sunday, Oct. 25. He surrendered just three runs in a 5-2 loss to the New York Yankees.

Joe Saunders didn't last long in his final start of the 2009 season. He was chased in the fourth inning after allowing three runs, and the Yankees went on to win 5-2 to clinch the ALCS.
Our View: Saunders was staked to a 1-0 lead in the third inning but gave it back and then some in the fourth. He allowed seven hits and five walks in just 3.1 innings, and one has to wonder why Mike Scioscia didn't pull him sooner.
