Martin produced back-to-back quality outings to end the year, although they both went down as no-decisions. It's unclear how the Nationals rotation will shape up for 2010 -- big-time prospect Stephen Strasburg is likely the one with a near-guaranteed spot -- but Martin's last two starts coupled with his two quality outings from Sept. 1-6 should give him a good shot to earn a rotation spot.

J.D. Martin held the Braves to just one run on six hits over six innings on Sunday. He pitched well enough for the win, but since the Nats won it in 15-innings, he'll have to settle for a quality start.

Our View: The rookie ends his season with a 5-4 record and 4.44 ERA, and may get consideration for a starting spot in the 2010 rotation.

J.D. Martin pitched well on Tuesday, but was denied a win as the Nationals topped the Mets 4-3. For his part he allowed three runs on seven hits and a pair of walks over six innings.

Our View: Martin isn't a fantasy worthy starter, but the rookie has recorded three quality starts this month. Not bad for someone on the Nationals.
