Good speed and defense used to be enough reason to justify a starting spot for Izturis. Now, injuries have sapped his baserunning prowess to the point where he's among the last shortstops off the board. At this point, his offensive production would be better served if he came off the bench.

Izturis has a run of three straight multi-hit games, hitting .538 (7-for-13) with three doubles. It's been another mediocre season for the shortstop, who is hitting just .256 with two home runs, 30 RBIs and 34 runs. His value likely won't change next season.
