Updating a previous report, Todd Zolecki, of MLB.com, reports Philadelphia Phillies RP Brad Lidge (elbow) will undergo surgery Wednesday, Nov. 11, to remove a loose body in his right elbow. He will also have his right flexor/pronator tendon evaluated during the surgery. If the tendon needs to be repaired, he likely would not be ready for the start of spring training but should be ready a short time after. He should be ready for spring training if his tendon does not be repaired.

According to the Twitter page of Phillies' beat writer Scott Lauber, closer Brad Lidge will have surgery on Wednesday to remove a loose body from his right elbow. Lidge will also have his right flexor tendon evaluated at that time.
Our View: The Phillies aren't too concerned about this procedure, as it is a fairly minor operation. The flexor tendon could be the bigger worry here, but overall this doesn't figure to be a huge deal.
