Packers | Rodgers throws two TD passes Week 3
The Associated Press reports Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was 13-for-23 for 269 yards with two touchdown passes Week 3 against the St. Louis Rams. He also ran four yards for a touchdown during the game.
Rodgers accounts for three scores
Aaron Rodgers only attempted 23 passes, but he completed 13 of them for 269 yards and two scores in the Week 3 win over the Rams.
Our View: Rodgers also chipped in eight carries for 38 yards and a rushing touchdown, while playing error free football. Next week should be quite the spectacle, as the Packers head to the Metrodome to face Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.

Packers | Rodgers would like more passing options
Rob Demovsky, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said he would like more options in the passing game and some of the eligible receivers to not have to stay into block so he could have check down options. "I think one of the things that happened last week was because of struggles (in protection) in Week 1, we've kept more guys in (to block)," Rodgers said. "Our backs were staying in a little bit longer, and so our stuff was all down the field because we didn't have any of our check downs out. The push, hopefully, this is week is, 'Hey you guys got to hold up up front.' We need more options underneath the coverage. When they're dropping off so far, you need some check downs."

Clifton out at least two weeks
Chad Clifton (high ankle sprain) will miss at least the the Packers' next two games, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
Our View: Clifton is the Packers' starting left tackle, and his absence won't make a rough early season start for Aaron Rodgers any easier. Daryn Colledge will fill-in while he is out.

Rodgers passed for 261 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 31-24
Rodgers passed for 261 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Bengals.
Impacts: Rodgers had a chance to send the game into overtime after marching the Packers to the Cincinnati 10-yard line with the clock running down, but Green Bay was called for the false start to end the game.
Clifton's return unclear, Pack plans without him
As a first-year starter last season, Aaron Rodgers made playing all 16 games a significant goal — and he did, despite playing through a serious shoulder injury.
Clifton might be out Week 3
News: Packers LT Chad Clifton suffered an ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. "It's really too early to tell how long he'll be out," coach Mike McCarthy said Monday. "We're preparing to play without him, obviously." That could be bad news for QB Aaron Rodgers, who was sacked six times by the Bengals. Rodgers struggled against Cincinnati with 21 of 39 passing for 261 yards and a touchdown and four carries for 43 yards. [...]

Jennings held catchless by Bengals
Greg Jennings did not have a single catch against the Bengals in Week 2, and Aaron Rodgers attributed it to double coverage. "They were rolling a safety to his side a lot," Rodgers told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal. "We tried to get him the ball at different points, just weren't very successful doing that. (Leon) Hall's a good corner, but we still liked that matchup. (Jennings) and I were a little bit off today."
Our View: Jennings was limited in practice last week because of a wrist ailment. Rodgers targeted him five times on Sunday and Jennings even dropped one pass. It was the first time in his four-year career that he was held without a catch in a game.
Packers | Rodgers throws touchdown pass Week 2

Rodgers fares well in home loss
Aaron Rodgers fared well in today's 31-24 loss to the Bengals at Lambeau Field, as he completed 21-of-39 passes for 261 yards, with one touchdown and no interceptions.
Our View: Rodgers was expected to post better numbers against the Bengals, but still had a solid performance in the loss. He did not throw an interception over the first two games of 2009 after throwing 13 last season.
Packers | Rodgers confident in offensive line
Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said he is confident in the team's offensive line despite taking several hard hits in Week 1. "I have a lot of trust in those guys. I think the feeling with those guys is they don't want me to get hit anymore. At least that's what they told me. I have a lot of faith in those guys," Rodgers said.
Bears-Packers one-liners
With a dramatic, 50-yard touchdown pass to WR Greg Jennings on third down and one late in the game that delivered a 21-15 win for Green Bay, Packers QB Aaron Rodgers looked like Brett Favre at his best. With four interceptions...
Barbre to remain starter
Packer's beat writer Tom Pelissero is reporting on his Twitter page that offensive tackle Allen Barbre will remain as the starter for the team's Week 2 match-up. Barbre was victimized by the Bears' Adewale Ogunleye in the season-opener on Sunday.
Our View: Barbre got man-handled by Ogunleye in the first half last night, but he did do a better job in the second half. If he is going to keep his job past this week, he better step up and stop someone to give quarterback Aaron Rodgers some time.
NFL: Rodgers Shines, Cutler Flops
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was 17-for-28 for 184 yards with a touchdown pass during the team's Week 1 game. Rodgers threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to WR Greg Jennings with 1:11 left in the game to help give the Packers a 21-15 win over the Chicago Bears. Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler was 17-for-36 for 277 yards with a touchdown pass and four interceptions during the team's Week 1 game.

Aaron Rodgers completed 17-of-28 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown as the Packers topped the Bears 21-15 on Sunday Night Football. Rodgers had trouble settling in under the Bears' ferocious pass rush and was even yanked down for a safety in the second quarter. [...]
Rodgers tames Bears at home
Aaron Rodgers completed 17-of-28 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown in tonight's 21-15 win over Chicago at Lambeau Field. His touchdown pass covered 50 yards on a laser to Greg Jennings, and came late in the fourth quarter to put the club ahead.
Our View: Rodgers failed to reach at least 200 yards, but did not have any turnovers, and fantasy owners should be pleased with the rising star's performance against a tough defense.
Rodgers brings Pack back for 21-15 win over Bears
Aaron Rodgers brought the Packers back late in the fourth quarter, heaving a 50-yard touchdown pass to Greg Jennings with 1:11 remaining to give Green Bay a 21-15 victory over the Chicago Bears in the season opener Sunday night.
Jennings hero at Lambeau
Greg Jennings was a hero for the Packers in tonight's 21-15 win over the rival Bears at Lambeau Field, as he hauled in six receptions for 106 yards and a touchdown. The score covered 50 yards on a strike from quarterback Aaron Rodgers late in the fourth quarter to put Green Bay on top.
Our View: Jennings demonstrated why he is an elite receiver tonight, and should continue to roll next weekend against the Bengals. He has scored a touchdown in three straight games against Chicago.
Tillman will start
Charles Tillman will start tonight's battle with the Packers at Lambeau Field.
Our View: He is dealing with a back ailment, but was deemed fit to play. He is the star of the Bears' secondary, and this is good news for them as they face Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' high-powered aerial attack.
Preseason power rankings: No 10
When Packers fans look back on the 2008 season five years from now, they will see it as a success, despite their 6-10 record. They will wonder how the decision to choose Aaron Rodgers over a declining Brett Favre was ever...
Tillman questionable
Charles Tillman (recovery from back surgery) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 1 showdown with Green Bay on Sunday night, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times.
Our View: If you own the Bears defense, this would be very bad news, as Aaron Rodgers was already likely to throw all over the Bears at it was. Without the anchor of their secondary, things could get ugly.
NFC East team previews
...shocking prediction, Schefter predicted that Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers would win the MVP. NFC North blogger Kevin Seifert went out on a limb and picked Texans defensive end Mario Williams to win the defensive...
Flynn will be ready for Sunday
According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Packers' backup quarterback Matt Flynn will be ready in time for Sunday's Week 1 game against the Bears. Flynn has missed some time with a sprained shoulder.
Our View: The pack better hope he is ready by Sunday, because if not they won't have a backup quarterback. With Brian Brohm on the practice squad, the team has to be confident that Flynn will be ready to go in case something happens to starter Aaron Rodgers.
Brohm could be cut?
Brian Brohm could be cut if he does perform well in the Packers' preseason finale on Thursday night, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
Our View: Brohm has reportedly finally been playing well at practice this week after struggling for most of the preseason, and just needs to look competent on Thursday night. If not, the Packers will likely be going with Aaron Rodgers, Matt Flynn and a veteran free agent as their quarterback trio this season.
Packers | Brohm to see significant playing time Thursday
Pete Dougherty, of The Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers QB Brian Brohm is expected to play the rest of the team's final preseason game Thursday, Sept. 3, once QB Aaron Rodgers comes out of the game.
Packers | Rodgers expected to make very brief appearance Thursday
Pete Dougherty, of The Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is expected to play only one series in the team's final preseason game Thursday, Sept. 3.
Flynn not throwing yet
Matt Flynn returned to practice on Monday, but he did not take any reps at the quarterback position, according to the Twitter page of Green Bay Press-Gazette writer Tom Pelissero. Flynn served as the holder, but he hasn't starter to throw after spraining his shoulder.
Our View: Brian Brohm took all the snaps behind starter Aaron Rodgers, and it looks like Flynn still has a ways to go before he will be ready to contribute. Brohm has a golden chance here to claim the backup role, but there is no reason to think he will step up now after disappointing the last year an a half.
