“The Dolphins will probably look to move on from Ryan Tannehill. Jones received a first-round gradefrom the NFL College Advisory Committee.”

While the Dolphins will move on from Tannehill according to reports, selecting Jones that early in the draft might not be in their best interest. With Flores expected to switch to a 3-4 hybrid defense, the Dolphins will need to retool that side of the ball]]> 5425763 Wed, 06 Feb 2019 14:15:01 EDT Dolphins Wire

Last month, the Dolphins signed Jake Rudock to a reserve/futures contract. On Monday, Grier told reporters what he liked about Rudock and why the Dolphins decided to sign him.

“Jake, we got to know him through Miami day here being he’s a local kid, and we spent some time with him,” Grier said. “The thing that we had liked, and the previous staff did as well, is that he was smart. He’s a big kid, can throw the ball and he’s smart. He’s been in a similar offense. Before he signed, I asked him ‘What can you do?’ and I said, ‘I can’t tell you what we’re going to do, because I don’t know what we’re doing (yet).’ Just the fact that he was big, had a good arm and was smart, it was someone we took a chance on. He’s a great kid though.]]> 5424772 Tue, 05 Feb 2019 7:27:02 EDT Dolphins Wire

New England Patriots defensive play-caller Brian Flores will lead the Miami Dolphins into a new era as their head coach, the team announced Monday. He will replace Adam Gase, who was fired on Dec. 31. The New York Jets hired Gase as head coach 12 days later.Flores takes over a team that seems headed for somewhat of a rebuild as owner Stephen Ross alluded to after firing Gase. (ESPN)

FF Today's Take: This deal has been in the works for some time but couldn't be announced until the Patriots run in the playoffs was complete. Flores has been the de-facto defensive coordinator for New England this season. The Dolphins will be in rebuild mode and are expected to move on from quarterback Ryan Tannehill and don't project to make any big moves in free agency.]]> 5424478 Mon, 04 Feb 2019 16:42:02 EDT
