He'll miss his fifth straight game. Eric Ebron will continue to dominate snaps with Doyle out, with Mo Alie-Cox and Erik Swoope spliting time in two tight end sets. [...]]]> 5335191 Fri, 19 Oct 2018 13:36:27 EDT <![CDATA[May be nearing return]]> Coach Frank Reich suggested Doyle (hip) may be nearing a return to practice, Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan reports. "You can tell Jack is ready and wanting to go," Reich said Wednesday.

Doyle hasn't practiced since Week 2 and was held out again Wednesday, making him a long shot to return for Sunday's game against the Bills. Reich's comments hint that a Week 8 appearance isn't out of the question, though it might be wise to hold off until after the Colts' Week 9 bye. Eric Ebron has averaged a 5.8-62-1 receiving line on 10.8 targets in the four games Doyle has missed so far.

Taking a larger role in the offense since the injury to starter Jack Doyle in Week 3, Ebron has been one of the most consistent producers on the offensive side of the ball through a desperate time.

His six touchdown receptions pace the tight end position in the NFL, and it represents a career-high for the 25-year-old, but head coach Frank Reich believes Ebron is capable of doing even more]]> 5332354 Tue, 16 Oct 2018 13:18:02 EDT Colts Wire

While Doyle hasn't yet been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jets, he is trending toward sitting out the contest. If that's what happens, fellow tight end Eric Ebron figures to be busy once again in Week 6, especially with the availability of top wideout T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) looking pretty iffy at this stage.

<![CDATA[Coach Frank Reich said Jack Doyle (hip) remains week to week.]]> Jack Doyle (hip) remains week to week. It doesn't sound promising for Doyle's Week 6 prospects against the Jets. The good news is Eric Ebron has been terrific this season, turning 12 red-zone targets into four touchdowns and being one of the top fantasy tight ends. [...]]]> 5326595 Wed, 10 Oct 2018 12:09:12 EDT
