Only two Saints listed on Wednesday’s report did not participate on Thursday: defensive end Marcus Davenport (toe) and wide receiver Cameron Meredith (knee). Meredith was sent to injured reserve and will undergo a an arthroscopic procedure due to continued swelling in his surgically-repaired knee. Davenport is still in a walking boot, patiently getting back to full health]]> 5355021 Thu, 08 Nov 2018 17:54:01 EDT Saints Wire
<![CDATA[Ryan Pace was right about WR Cameron Meredith]]> Cameron Meredith last April in what became a controversial decision that resulted in criticism and objection from Bears fans and analysts throughout the NFL.

Less than seven months later, Pace has been vindicated. Meredith’s season has come to an end after just nine catches, 114 yards and one touchdown. He’s headed to injured reserve.

Meredith enjoyed a breakout season in Chicago in 2016 when he caught 66 passes for 888 yards and four touchdowns and appeared on the cusp of becoming one of the NFL’s top young receivers before a devastating knee injury during the 2017 preseason landed him on injured reserve]]> 5354700 Thu, 08 Nov 2018 10:36:01 EDT Bears Wire
<![CDATA[Report: Saints place WR Cameron Meredith on injured reserve]]> Cameron Meredith to injured reserve, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Schefter’s report also states that Meredith undergo an arthroscopic knee procedure, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Meredith was only available for New Orleans to sign away from the Chicago Bears because of a catastrophic knee injury he suffered in the 2017 preseason, tearing his ACL fully while also damaging the MCL in the same knee. That presented a difficult rehab that lingered into the Saints’ 2018 training camp, though Meredith pushed through it to catch 9 of 10 passes thrown his way for 114 yards and a touchdown. His ability is still there, it’s just going to take longer than the Saints expected for him to get right. He was listed as limited on every Wednesday injury report prior to this week’s, where he was not a participant]]> 5354670 Thu, 08 Nov 2018 9:24:01 EDT Saints Wire

FF Today's Take: Wow. the Saints are thin at WR and could use a big target like Dez if guys like Cameron Meredith aren't developing fast enough. his fantasy upside would be limited, but he'd be a legit red zone target and he's four years removed from three consecutive double-digit TD seasons.]]> 5353021 Tue, 06 Nov 2018 13:03:01 EDT
