The Chargers are coming off a 20-6 win over the Oakland Raiders that was too close to their liking, but they got the job done for their sixth consecutive victory. It wasn’t an easy game given the poor air quality from the wildfires in Northern California and it took them a bit to get going on both sides of the ball.

The Broncos, on the other hand, didn’t play this past weekend as they were on their bye week. The week prior, Denver lost to the Houston Texans 19-17 which came down to the last play that saw kicker Brandon McManus miss the game-winning field goal from 51-yards]]> 5359438 Tue, 13 Nov 2018 13:45:01 EDT Chargers Wire

While they might have needed a 51-yard missed field goal from Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus to seal the deal, Houston will head into their bye week with another win and on top of the AFC South standings at 6-3.

The Texans have completely turned themselves around from their 0-3 start and look strong heading down the stretch for a chance at the playoffs. While the team still has some holes that will need to be fixed, a win is a win and that’s all Houston has done the past six weeks]]> 5351629 Sun, 04 Nov 2018 22:30:01 EDT Texans Wire

With the return of former Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas to Broncos Stadium at Mile High, emotions were high for both parties. While Thomas still will need to work on some things over the course of the next two weeks, his contributions will be hard to ignore. <![CDATA[Missed field goal at buzzer sends Broncos to 19-17 loss to Houston]]> Brandon McManus missed a 51-yard field goal wide right as time expired today, allowing the Houston Texans to beat the Broncos, 19-17, at Mile High.

The Broncos dropped to 3-6 entering the bye week, their hopes at the playoffs all but dashed.

A made McManus kick would have capped a terrific end-of-game drive.

The Broncos got the ball back at their 14-yard line and 3:29 remaining. Quarterback Case Keenum threw 11 yards to tight end Jeff Heuerman to convert a third-and-4. Three plays later, on third-and-2, the Broncos rushed to the line to run a play instead of waiting for the two-minute warning. Devontae Booker gained only one yard on the hurried rush, setting up a fourth-and-1 from the 40. Heuerman then caught a three-yard pass. After two penalties, the Broncos were back at their 28. But Tim Patrick caught a 17-yard pass and, on fourth-and-8, Emmanuel Sanders an 18-yard gain with 41 seconds left]]> 5351410 Sun, 04 Nov 2018 19:57:02 EDT All Things Broncos
