New York Jets running back Isaiah Crowell is expected to play against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.Crowell is listed as questionable because of an ankle injury but should be able to suit up after rushing for a team-record 219 yards and a touchdown last week against Denver. (ESPN)

FF Today's Take: Crowell missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and was limited on Friday. Crowell and Bilal Powell have basically split the running back workload this season with Powell seeing 6 more receptions in the pass game. Powell is probably the safer bet of the two, but his upside is capped if Crowell sees a full complement of snaps.]]> 5329848 Sun, 14 Oct 2018 2:27:01 EDT

After dropping to No. 29 last week, the Jets jumped up seven spots all the way to No. 22 following the victory over the Broncos. It was a dominant showing on the ground for New York, as Isaiah Crowell and Bilal Powell combined for 318 of the Jets 323 rushing yards on the day. To put that number in perspective, New York ran for 354 yards total through the first four weeks of the season]]> 5325868 Tue, 09 Oct 2018 13:21:01 EDT Jets Wire

That Adam Gotsis forced fumble/recovery came all in one motion against the Jets. Smooth.

— Kyle Fredrickson (@kylefredrickson) October 8, 2018

Situation: The Broncos defended second-and-eight from the Jets’ 19-yard line with 10 minutes left in the first quarter. Scoreless.

Jets’ running back Bilal Powell took a handoff right and defensive end Adam Gotsis, from the opposite side, kept pace with Powell until he cut up-field. Gotsis dove at Powell’s chest, punched the football out and fell directly on top. It marked the Broncos’ first forced turnover since Week 1 against Seattle]]> 5325131 Mon, 08 Oct 2018 16:39:01 EDT All Things Broncos

<![CDATA[Isaiah Crowell is Jets Wire's Week 5 Player of the Game vs. Broncos]]> Isaiah Crowell had a career day, basically putting the offense on his back.

Crowell put on a show with a career-high 219 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown. He also set a franchise record for rushing yards. He has had a streaky start to his season thus far with the exception of his Week 1 performance. However, for Week 5 he is Jets Wire’s Player of the Game.

The 25-year-old running back was signed by the Jets to complement Bilal Powell. Neither has been consistent this season, but Sunday’s win was on a different level. The duo combined for 318 yards on the ground]]> 5324685 Mon, 08 Oct 2018 7:57:01 EDT Jets Wire

After being shut down by the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4, Crowell put it all together against the Denver Broncos in Week 5. He ran for 219 yards on only 15 carries, breaking New York’s single-game franchise rushing record. The previous record was held by Thomas Jones, who rushed for 210 yards in 2009 against the Buffalo Bills.

Fellow running back Bilal Powell had an impressive performance against Denver in his own right, but it was Crowell who stole the show. His combination of size and speed was too much for the Broncos to handle, as he routinely had his way with Denver defenders in the second level]]> 5324080 Sun, 07 Oct 2018 17:57:02 EDT Jets Wire

Running back Bilal Powell fumbled deep in his own territory, leading to a Case Keenum eight-yard touchdown pass to rookie wide receiver Courtland Sutton. Isaiah Crowell quickly answered with a 77-yard for a touchdown and the Jets never looked back.

After three consecutive losses, the Jets finally played a complete game, garnering contributions from all three units — something they hadn’t seen since their season opener in Detroit]]> 5323980 Sun, 07 Oct 2018 17:15:01 EDT Jets Wire

<![CDATA[Broncos at Jets scouting report: Denver looks to end two-game skid]]> Isaiah Crowell has 42 carries and Bilal Powell has 39 attempts. “They’ve got a nice 1-2 punch with those guys,” Broncos coach Vance Joseph said. “That’s our first call of duty — stop the running game.” The Jets are averaging only 3.6 yards per carry (tied for 25th in the NFL). The Broncos rank eighth defending the run (93.8) and have allowed only four explosive rushes (at least 12 yards) in four games.

Can a pass defense show signs of progress when squandering a 10-point fourth quarter lead, failing to create a takeaway, getting only one sack and allowing 304 yards? Yes, if you’re the Broncos. And now they get to face a rookie quarterback in Sam Darnold. It’s time for the pass rush to get going. After a six-sack opener, they have only four sacks over the last three games. If the secondary keeps track of Quincy Enunwa (21 catches), none of the other receivers can dominate the game]]> 5322602 Sat, 06 Oct 2018 12:09:02 EDT All Things Broncos
