The New Orleans Saints injury report contained some good news and some bad news Thursday (Jan. 17). Receiver Keith Kirkwood (calf) and tight end Ben Watson (illness) both missed practice for the second consecutive day, but offensive linemen Andrus Peat (hand), Ryan Ramczyk (shoulder) and center Max Unger were all upgraded to full participants. (Times Picyanue)

FF Today's Take: Kirkwood played 53 snaps last week against the Eagles so if he misses, its likely Tre'Quan Smith will see increased reps against the Rams. It's likely Watson will be active this week but the Saints do not involve their tight end much in the passing game making Watson or Dan Arnold fantasy afterthoughts.]]> 5413814 Thu, 17 Jan 2019 21:00:02 EDT

<![CDATA[Saints | Andrus Peat playing in pain]]> Andrus Peat (hand) underwent surgery on the broken hand he suffered in the regular-season finale and played 'through serious pain' in the NFC Division Round against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a source.]]> 5411606 Mon, 14 Jan 2019 15:15:01 EDT footballguys <![CDATA[Report: Andrus Peat broke hand vs. Panthers, had surgery in bye week]]> Andrus Peat broke his hand during the regular season finale against the Carolina Panthers and underwent surgery during the team’s first-round playoff bye week. Nick Underhill of the Advocate added that Peat has been practicing with a wrapped-up hand.

Peat exited that Panthers game favoring his left forearm, and appeared to fall awkwardly onto it while finishing a block. So this is a logical sequence of events. It speaks to Peat’s toughness that he’s playing through the pain to try to help his team. He was clearly hobbled against the Philadelphia Eagles in their divisional round game, at times jumping the snap to try and beat his opponents to their spot so he could use his frame to box them out – a necessity when he wasn’t able to use his left arm to block them]]> 5411575 Mon, 14 Jan 2019 14:45:01 EDT Saints Wire
