#Browns standout TE David Njoku, dealing with a high-ankle sprain, is expected to play today, source said. His first action since early September.
Cleveland uses Jameis Winston on fourth-and-1. He tosses to D'Onta Foreman, who comes up short. Odd decision there. Good start for Washington's defense tho.
Browns CB Denzel Ward (hamstring) exits, won't return vs. Commanders nfl.com/news/2024-nfl-... pic.x.com/DoCcABOxvp
The Cleveland Browns are getting beat in devastating, season-ending fashion by the Washington Commanders to the point where even former players are beginning to chant for the team to bench Deshaun Watson for Jameis Winston.
Chief among them? Winston’s former teammate in Tampa Bay, Ryan Fitzpatrick. Taking to social media, Fitzpatrick posted a gif of his former teammate, a player he backed up with the Buccaneers.

Cleveland Browns defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo exited the game against the Washington Commanders. Okoronkwo was seen walking to the locker rooms with trainers during the two-minute warning. Okoronkwo is being evaluated for a concussion.
The Browns are thin at the defensive end position. Reigning defensive player of the year, Myles Garrett is battling lower leg injuries. They lost third-year defensive end Alex Wright for the season earlier this week. Okoronkwo is the Browns’ designated pass rusher, but he’s getting more and more playing time after the rash of injuries
Cleveland Browns starting safety Rodney McLeod Jr. left the game against the Washington Commanders with a face laceration. He is questionable to return. Ronnie Hickman has stepped in as the deep safety to face the Commander’s prolific passing attack.
The Browns are vulnerable at deep safety. Starting free safety Juan Thornhill suffered a calf injury after the first game, and was placed on injured reserve during Week 2 of the season. He is able to return after next week.
McLeod and Hickman have stepped in for Thornhill, but they’re having a limited impact. McLeod is a 13-year veteran and his experience helps the Browns pre-snap, but he no longer has the athleticism to patrol the deep middle of the field. Hickman is inexperienced and is constantly caught between assignments
How much longer can the Cleveland Browns keep the Deshaun Watson experiment alive?
Forget about the cap space, forget about the dead money, forget about the implications for a moment. How can head coach Kevin Stefanski continue to go into his locker room and look his veteran leaders in the eye as he trots out a quarterback they have little hope of building anything sustainable with offensively?
The veterans are going to quit. Perhaps they have already started to given the performance of wide receiver Amari Cooper and more. What incentive does defensive end Myles Garrett have to continue to play through injury? Why would Nick Chubb want to rush back onto the field if this is the product the Browns are going to put on the field
More history: No player in NFL history has ever had 1,000+ passing yards and 250+ rushing yards in their first 5 career games--until Jayden Daniels. You're witnessing a superstar. pic.x.com/z4LJkKqUeZ
Jayden Daniels just hit a 41-yard TD to Dyami Brown.
The #Commanders are so fun to watch. What a time in DC.
@MySportsUpdate: Jayden Daniels DEEP to Terry McLaurin for 66 yards. ??

@NFL_DovKleiman: Brian Robinson Jr. TOUCHDOWN
Commanders up 7-0
https://t.co/sBLMB9Udtj https://t.co/OUEeRACOu3
They changed it. Credit for the sack went to Bobby Wagner.
Luvu has 1.5 sacks.
@NickiJhabvala: Frankie Luvu has 2.5 sacks. There's still 1:51 left in the first half.
S Percy Butler, listed as questionable because of a groin injury, is on the field now testing it in front of head strength coach Chad Englehart and head athletic trainer Al Bellamy.
RT: Jon Allen and Daron Payne just played rock scissors paper at the 40-yard line to see who would stay in the game for the third down play ... the Browns are 0-11 on third down and the Commanders have 7 sacks on the day
Brandon Coleman starting at left tackle for the Commanders.
Cornelius Lucas in at LT to start this drive.
Quan Martin has a shoulder injury and is being evaluated for a concussion. He's questionable to return.
On the second defensive drive of the day in this Week 5 matchup, Cleveland Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah intercepted Jayden Daniels’ pass in a huge defensive stop against the Washington Commanders.
The Browns defense is off to an impressive start after shutting down the Commanders on their opening drive and intercepting quarterback Jayden Daniels. This is only Daniels’ second interception of the year and Owusu-Koramoah’s third in his career. The drive was rocky after Terry McLaurin recorded a sixty-five-yard catch on a broken play
The Washington Commanders are dominating the Cleveland Browns so badly that they chose to sit starting quarterback Jayden Daniels with almost 13 minutes remaining in the game.
Up 34-6 with 12 minutes and 45 seconds remaining, Washington head coach Dan Quinn turned to Marcus Mariota at quarterback for the remainder of Sunday’s Week 5 meeting.
Daniels completed 14 of 25 passes for 238 yards with one interception and one touchdown. He also carried the ball 11 times for 82 yards. It wasn’t the best start for Daniels, who threw a red-zone interception early in the first half. Fortunately for Daniels, Washington’s defense shut down the Browns and got the ball back for the offense
Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols first entered the NFL in 2017. Since his rookie season, McNichols has spent time on 10 different teams, including two stints with the Tennessee Titans. Despite appearing in three games for the San Francisco 49ers last season, McNichols hadn’t carried the football in an NFL game since 2021.
That all changed in Washington’s 42-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals last week. With Austin Ekeler out with an injury, McNichols, who made the 53-man roster as the team’s No. 3 running back, carried the ball eight times for 68 yards and two touchdowns. He played a pivotal role in Washington’s win
