Packers haven't asked Willis to do much with his arm, but he's slinging it when they do.
@zkeefer: Didn't anticipate Malik Willis outplaying Anthony Richardson in this one ...
... but that's where we're at.
Unfortunately, choosing the player of the game wasn’t all that difficult of a decision to make because in a game where very little went right for the Colts, options were limited.
However, deserving of it was running back Jonathan Taylor, who provided the lone steady spark to the Colts’ offense.
Taylor would finish the game carrying the ball 12 times and totaling 103 yards on those attempts, which included a long of 29 yards. That averages out to a whopping 8.6 yards per carry.
In addition to that, Taylor also had two receptions for 32 yards with a long of 18 yards. A telling stat about the state of the passing game for the Colts was that Taylor was the team’s second-leading receiver on Sunday
The first career touchdown pass from quarterback Malik Willis put the Green Bay Packers up 10-0 over the Indianapolis Colts in the first quarter Sunday at Lambeau Field.
On 3rd-and-4, Willis threw a dart to receiver Dontatyvion Wicks, who beat slot corner Kenny Moore and turned up field for the 14-yard touchdown.
The Packers, who are without Jordan Love because of a knee injury, scored on both of their drives to open the first quarter.
Willis came into Sunday’s start with zero touchdown passes and three interceptions across three starts and 11 appearances since being selected in the third round of the 2022 draft by the Tennessee Titans. He needed just two drives with the Packers to get his first passing score
With NFL teams only able to have 48 players active on game-days, the Indianapolis Colts announced that seven players will be inactive for their Week 2 matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

Downs did return to practice this past week and was a full participant on Friday. Ian Rapoport reported early on Sunday morning that Downs was “50-50” in regards to whether or not he would be able to suit up. In what is a long NFL season, the Colts opted to give him some additional time to make sure he is absolutely ready
During the second half of the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 2 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, rookie defensive end Laiatu Latu exited the game with what was called a hip injury.
The Colts would then rule him out.

Latu was the Colts’ first round selection back in April and the first defender off the board. He has been a disruptive pass rusher since arriving in Indianapolis
Packers WR Jayden Reed (calf/shin) is expected to play vs. Colts, per @RapSheet nfl.com/news/injury-ro... pic.x.com/u86k14nyve

The #Packers get an impressive win without Jordan Love. Malik Willis with a solid performance.
@NFL: Hail Mary attempt... and the @Packers WIN! #INDvsGB https://t.co/KPoLwtuhZA
#Packers center Josh Myers vomited on the football before a 3rd down but still snapped it to Malik Willis. Willis had no choice but to run with it. This is a wild story. (? @packers) pic.x.com/fgpvz4bhwx
Jaire Alexander on the Packers controlling the game on the ground: "I was literally just sitting back enjoying my Gatorade. Felt amazing. This might be the shortest film that we watch all season." pic.x.com/peh1qzp453
The insides of Josh Jacobs gloves say it at all: Who. Cares. As in who cares if you have to run the ball 32 times or who cares if your starting QB is out? pic.x.com/unkiclskft
Packers rookie RB MarShawn Lloyd, listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury that prevented him from playing in Week 1, is expected to make his NFL debut today vs. the Colts, per source.

Brayden Narveson good from 42 after the Packers run Jacobs for 5 yards on third and 10. Packers 13, Colts 0
Evan Williams recovered the onside kick and intercepts the Hail Mary. Without Jordan Love, the Packers squeeze out a 16-10 win over the Colts.
The #Packers had a whopping 164 rushing yards in the first quarter vs. the Colts. - Josh Jacobs: 81 - Jayden Reed: 37 - Bo Melton: 16 - Malik Willis: 12 - MarShawn Lloyd: 9 - Emanuel Wilson: 9 Matt LaFleur in his bag.
JOSH JACOBS FUMBLED IN THE ENDZONE!

Christian Watson and Tucker Kraft's blocks on that 22-yard gain by Jayden Reed. Sheesh.
Jordan Love is officially inactive. Jayden Reed is active. So is MarShawn Lloyd. Full inactives: Love OT Andre Dillard OT Travis Glover S Kitan Oladapo DL Colby Wooden DE Brenton Cox Jr.
Eric Stokes postgame on the Packers defense: "We're loaded. Premium 93."
Daniel Whelan is good at punting a football. Very good.
Air-tight coverage by Eric Wilson on Pittman and he secures the INT over the middle. So much for Wilson being only a special teams player.
First time I've seen AJ Dillon back at Lambeau Field since the Packers put him on season-ending IR. He's on the field observing warmups in a bucket hat.
The RG rotation continues. Rookie first-rounder Jordan Morgan in for the second drive.
No, this was not a punt return. It was Xavier McKinney's second INT in as many games with the Packers. pic.x.com/useekwhuha
Sean Rhyan at RG with the 1s during warmups.
Evan Williams and Edgerrin Cooper both on the field right now.
The Los Angeles Rams have dealt with a rash of injuries after just one game but their list of inactives for today’s game against the Arizona Cardinals is full of healthy scratches. The Rams announced which five players won’t suit up at State Farm Stadium and they are as follows: Cody Schrader, Brennan Jackson, Davis Allen and Tyler Davis.
Allen is the only player who came into the week with an injury designation, as he was previously ruled out for this game. Schrader, Jackson and Davis are all healthy scratches and won’t play due to coaching decisions
