Game News
Death, taxes and a throw short of the sticks to Pat Freiermuth on third down.
Is this Russell Wilson's last game? I can't see him being a placeholder or a backup. I also can't see anyone handing him the full-season starting job.
From @NFLGameDay: The #Ravens won't have Pro Bowl WR Zay Flowers today, but perhaps next week; Meanwhile, the #Steelers are prepared to use Justin Fields today against the #Ravens to give their offense a spark. pic.x.com/8UReqxah8z
RT: Someone asked me to describe George Pickens' whole deal recently and the best I could come up with was “on any given play anything could happen”
OLB Preston Smith also inactive. A little bit of a surprise.
@bepryor: OL Mason McCormick (broken hand) is INACTIVE. Maryland product Spencer Anderson next man up to start at right guard.
RT: Van Jefferson! @Steelers get six. #PITvsBAL on Prime Video Also streaming on #NFLPlus pic.x.com/HWttgSB0Um
Steelers have activated Calvin Anderson from IR, signed Scotty Miller to the PS and elevated him for the game tonight.
T.J. Watt hurt behind the play, runs off holding his left arm. Looks like landed on it diving after Henry.
Steelers starting RG Mason McCormick is inactive. Spencer Anderson will start in his place. Other inactives: - QB Kyle Allen (3rd QB) - WR Scotty Miller - WR Jamal Agnew - CB Cory Trice Jr. - LB Preston Smith - DE Dean Lowry
Calvin Austin is tough as hell. Maybe the best thing the Steelers have going all game.
No petty coin toss in the playoffs. Patrick Queen, who went out in the regular season Ravens games, doesn't go out with the captains. Cam Heyward calls heads, wins, and elects to receive to start the game. Will the Steelers run on first down? stay tuned!
One of the Steelers' deadline-day additions (Preston Smith) is inactive for the wildcard game. The other, Mike Williams, has nine receptions for 132 yds and 1 TD in the nine weeks since the trade.
Methodical drive by the Ravens capped by a way-too-easy touchdown from Lamar Jackson to Rashod Bateman. Donte Jackson got beat by Bateman, and Jackson had zero pressure on the throw. MVP chants breaking out at M&T Bank Stadium as the Ravens lead 7-0, 4:45 1Q

Early look at Justin Fields. He enters the game on third-and-short and hands to Jaylen Warren for the first down.
When you are getting blown out, the television broadcast has to do something to keep things moving. For Al Michaels and Kirk Hirbstreit, they are being forced to watch the Baltimore Ravens blow out the Pittsburgh Steelers and Herbstreit isn’t holding back on the lack of effort by the Steelers defense.
In the first half, Herbstreit wondered where the Steelers fire was and then in the second half, called out cornerback Donte Jackson for his lack of effort helping to make a tackle.
Ravens receiver Tylan Wallace made a catch near the sidelines and on the replay, it is easy to see Jackson just stand and watch while safety Minkah Fitzpatrick works by himself to wrestle Wallace down. Herbstreit saw it as well and pointed out the lack of effort this group has been seeing for a long time
Lamar Jackson and the #Ravens are embarrassing the Pittsburgh Steelers. pic.x.com/kAX1VRBclW
These two screenshots were the same play.
@MySportsUpdate: Derrick Henry. That's the tweet. https://t.co/qXHeRT8W6F
Apparently, the Ravens' answer to not having Zay Flowers is to play football without wide receivers.
Lamar Jackson is NOT HUMAN 🤯 This game is over. Justice Hill TD. pic.x.com/7OOPT1pVTH
Brandon Stephens is THE weak link in that #Ravens secondary. No secret. Been that way all year.
Ravens inactives: RB Rasheen Ali, WR Zay Flowers (knee), WR Keith Kirkwood, C Nick Samac, OLB Adisa Isaac, S Marcus Williams, S Beau Brade Ravens go with Keaton Mitchell as No. 3 RB behind Henry and Hill.
Roquan Smith breaks the final huddle following warmups. Kickoff in just over a half hour.
Steelers win the toss and they take the ball. Justin Tucker will be kicking off to start this one.
Marlon Humphrey just went off hurt factoring his left arm/shoulder.
Tylan Wallace starting at WR opposite Bateman with Flowers out.
Ravens make two practice squad elevations: WRs Anthony Miller and Keith Kirkwood. Probably for more of a special teams role, at least for Kirkwood. They do not activate WR/RS Deonte Harty from IR.
The Ravens' moving Kyle Hamilton to deep safety midway through the season has been cited as the main reason for the defensive turnaround. But there was another move that's been almost as impactful. From @NFLGameDay @nflnetwork pic.x.com/rp3iYMn9uo
Touchdown Baltimore. Lamar has all day to survey the field. He finds Rashod Bateman to cap the 13-play, 95-yard TD drive. Eerily similar to the long TD drive the Steelers gave up in the last meeting after Russ' fumble.
Ar'Darius Washington is so fun to watch. Dude is an in-the-frame player on almost every defensive play. What a nose for the ball
