When watching the Seattle Seahawks from their week one matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, you’ll notice a lackluster performance. The Seahawks only managed 20:37 for time of possession and they only had 13 total first downs. Not ideal for an offense that features wide receivers D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Kenneth Walker.
Even though the Seahawks had a slow start to the season, it doesn’t mean they should be taken lightly. As we know, the Lions have lost 5 straight games to Seattle. That includes last season where the Lions lost 48-45 in a game that determined later on who was going to the playoffs. Let’s jump into the film room and take a look at what the Lions defense could expect against the Seahawks offense

We’ve officially reached the intermission between the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions. Currently, the Seahawks are trailing the Lions 14-7. Seattle started the game strong, turning their first possession of the morning into a touchdown, courtesy of Kenneth Walker III.

It’s been a back-and-forth affair between Seattle and Detroit, but the Lions offense has been strong. The best defensive play of the game for the Seahawks was from their No. 5 pick, cornerback Devon Witherspoon. The young rookie broke up a crucial pass on 4th down

The Seattle Seahawks are heading into a critical game today against the Detroit Lions. A loss would mean an 0-2 start to the season, usually the end of any realistic playoff hopes. While Pete Carroll is as good as any NFL head coach at rallying his team and making postseason runs after rough starts, we may start shifting our thinking toward the 2024 NFL draft a bit more if the Lions win.
On that note, the Seahawks have to be at least considering picking a quarterback in next year’s class – no matter how well Geno Smith performs for the rest of this season. While he signed a three-year extension in the offseason, it’s a flexible and team-friendly deal that would allow the front office to get out early and re-build around a young quarterback to match the rest of what’s the seventh-youngest roster in the league right now

"Big Play Tre" Brown refueled his reputation in relief of injured cornerback Riq Woolen, delivering a critical pick-six in the Seahawks' overtime win over the Lions Sunday.

The Seattle Seahawks announced on Saturday that they have elevated cornerback Artie Burns and linebacker Jon Rhattigan from the practice squad for today’s game against the Detroit Lions. Burns and Rhattigan were also the team’s two practice squad elevations in Week 1.
Our 53-man roster tracker is now up to date with those moves plus jersey numbers for the team’s two new rookie offensive linemen, Raiqwon O’Neal and McClendon Curtis

The Seattle Seahawks and the Detroit Lions have released their respective inactives lists ahead of today’s matchup.
Unfortunately, the Seahawks are going into the game short handed up front. The good news is it appears cornerback Devon Witherspoon, the No. 5 pick in the 2023 NFL draft, is ready to go for his first action as a professional.
Here’s a look at who’s sitting out today for both teams.
Seattle will also be without starting right tackle Abe Lucas, who’s been placed on IR and will require knee surgery. Jake Curhan has taken his place in the lineup, while Stone Forsythe is starting at left tackle instead of Cross

The Seattle Seahawks are seemingly in dire straits as they head into their Week 2 showdown against the Detroit Lions on the road. The Lions are not only fresh off an upset victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, but they have the advantage of time on their side. The season opener was played on Thursday, which has given them a few extra days to rest and prepare for the Seahawks.
Seattle, on the other hand, is still licking their wounds inflicted upon them by the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1. It was a costly defeat, as both starting tackles have been injured. Right tackle Abe Lucas is now on injured reserve with a pending knee procedure, while left tackle Charles Cross is week to week with turf toe

The one bit of legitimate positive news for the Seattle Seahawks going into this game is the debut of their No. 5 pick from the draft. After missing most of training camp and even Week 1 with a hamstring issue, cornerback Devon Witherspoon is finally set to make his debut.
Head coach Pete Carroll spoke about him pregame to Tom Pelissero, and offered a quote that is sure to get the 12th Man “fired” up about Witherspoon.

Jared Goff’s marvelous string of passes without throwing an interception came to an abrupt end on Sunday. With the Lions trailing 24-21 in the third quarter to visiting Seattle, Goff fired a pass behind rookie RB Jahmyr Gibbs.
Seahawks DB Tre Brown picked it off and ran it back for a critical touchdown, one that played a huge role in Seattle’s 37-31 overtime win.
After the game, Goff and Lions head coach Dan Campbell offered up different causes for the costly miscue.
Campbell pointed his finger at Gibbs, at least partially. It sounded like Campbell intended it as more of a coaching exoneration of Goff

The Detroit Lions lost their home opener against the Seattle Seahawks, 37-31. Unfortunately, things continued to go downhill for the Lions as several prominent players suffered injuries and could miss significant playing time, including David Montgomery.
Montgomery has been the key player for the Lions in the running game during the first two games of the season, while the team eased Jahymr Gibbs into the NFL. However, following a thigh bruise injury, Montgomery may have to sit out for a couple of weeks according to Dave Birkett from the Detroit Free Press. The injury occurred when he was trying to gain more yards, but got twisted up in the process

Injuries are quickly becoming the early story of the game between the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks. The Lions saw both starting safeties leave the field with injuries during Seattle’s opening drive.
C.J. Gardner-Johnson came off the field favoring his shoulder. He walked off on his own but quickly sought treatment with trainers on the Lions bench. He was back on the field for the subsequent drive.
Kerby Joseph quickly left the field on a cart after heading to the sideline following a collision with Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf. It didn’t appear to be a leg injury for Joseph. He was initially listed as questionable to return

Lions fans will have to wait a little longer before seeing the Detroit debut of third-round pick, Brodric Martin. The defensive tackle is one of five Lions who are inactive for the Week 2 matchup in Ford Field with the Seattle Seahawks.
Martin and Isaiah Buggs, who was projected to be the starting nose tackle for most of the offseason, are both inactive. The beefy duo was also inactive in the Week 1 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
With left tackle Taylor Decker and cornerback Emmanuel Moseley already ruled out with injuries, there was only one other player who needed to be inactive. The Lions coaching staff chose undrafted rookie CB Steven Gilmore
