Many people expect a low-scoring, ugly game between the Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants in Week 2. A simulation of the game on “Madden NFL 24” confirms that belief.
In a simulation of the Week 2 matchup at State Farm Stadium, the defenses ruled. The Giants won the game 13-10. The Cardinals missed a field goal and had another blocked.
The Cardinals only had 255 total yards and the Giants won with only 184 and quarterback Daniel Jones completed 10-of-19 passes for 85 yards and an interception. His one-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was the difference

The New York Giants will not have their starting left tackle as they take on the Arizona Cardinals on the road in Week 2. Andrew Thomas, hampered by a hamstring injury, was among the inactive players and did not dress.
Tight end Darren Waller will play. He missed some practice time with a hamstring injury during the week but did not have a game designation on the final injury report.
Here are the Giants’ inactives:
With Thomas out, Matt Peart will start at left tackle.
The Giants allowed seven sacks in Week 1 and the Cardinals’ defense had six. While the Cardinals are missing four defensive starters, they should be able to generate pressure in the passing game

Giants running back Saquon Barkley injured his right ankle late in the team's comeback win over the Cardinals.

There was a lot of talk about the Cardinals tanking when they traded linebacker Isaiah Simmons to the Giants for a seventh-round pick before the start of the regular season, but Sunday's game between the two teams is making the opposite argument.

Running back James Conner had his first 100-yard rushing game as a member of the Arizona Cardinals. In the Cardinals’ 31-28 loss to the New York Giants, he finished with 106 yards and a touchdown on 23 rushing attempts.
His play sparked the Cardinals to a 20-0 first-half lead and a 28-7 lead in the third quarter.

Sam Howell made his second NFL start for the Washington Commanders against the Arizona Cardinals last week. Fortunately for Howell, he finished the game after a clear and dirty hit from Cardinals linebacker Kyzir White midway through the first quarter.

NFL officials quickly penalized White and the Cardinals for the hit. Howell’s teammates were unhappy, and a brief scuffle ensued on the sideline

The Arizona Cardinals took a 14-0 lead in the second quarter over the New York Giants with some speed and power from quarterback Josh Dobbs.
On the first play of the second quarter, Dobbs play faked and then found open field in front of him. He took off for a scramble, leveled his shoulder into safety Xavier McKinney and went into the end zone for the score.
It was the longest run of his NFL career and his first career rushing touchdown.

The Arizona Cardinals were down two starting defensive linemen on Sunday when they lost 31-28 to the New York Giants. One of their replacement starters, veteran Carlos Watkins, got hurt in the game.
Watkins had two tackles and a tipped pass in the first half but exited with what was called an arm injury.
After the game, head coach Jonathan Gannon said Watkins has a biceps injury.
This, of course, should give fans reason to be worried. Fellow defensive lineman L.J. Collier suffered a biceps injury last week. He is on injured reserve and, according to Gannon, it will be “a long time” to come back from it. He didn’t sound optimistic that Collier would be able to return this season
