There haven’t been many positives from the Minnesota Vikings game so far, but Jordan Addison’s play might put a smile on the faces of some fans.
The Vikings’ rookie once again found the end zone for the Vikings when he got behind the Eagles’ secondary for another long touchdown.

Game News

After a disappointing 17 points against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Minnesota Vikings offense heads to Philadelphia to face the uber-talented Eagles defense.
There were some positives to take away from Sunday’s loss that could be translatable to success in this short week. Kirk Cousins had drives where he got into a good rhythm, especially with superstar Justin Jefferson. The rookie Jordan Addison had a good showing in his debut, catching his first touchdown off a blown assignment due to Tampa’s Carlton Davis attempting to undercut Jefferson at the first-down line

Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson shows why he’s worth every penny of his new contract with a stellar drive to get the Vikings into the endzone early in the 2nd quarter.

Hockenson was a threat on every play on that drive as he pulled in three receptions and completely decimated the middle of the Eagles’ defense

Columnist Chip Scoggins joins the podcast to talk all things Vikings, including wondering why a contract extension between Justin Jefferson and the team didn't materialize.

On just the third play of the game, Minnesota Vikings safety Josh Metellus left the game with a shoulder injury. He is listed as questionable to return.
On third down, quarterback Jalen Hurts was scrambling after a Danielle Hunter pressure and escaped the pocket. Metellus dove for the tackle on Hurts and landed hard on his right shoulder.
Immediately after Metellus left the game, Theo Jackson came into the game and allowed a 54-yard pass to wide receiver DeVonta Smith to get the Eagles into the red zone. They settled for a field goal to go up 3-0

Vikings fans breathed a sigh of relief when left tackle Christian Darrisaw's name did not appear on the inactive list.

The inactives have been released for Thursday night’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Philadelphia Eagles and there was some good news for the purple and gold.
Both left tackle Christian Darrisaw and outside linebacker Marcus Davenport are active and will play after both were listed as questionable with ankle injuries.
The list of Vikings inactive list is as follows.
The Eagles have the following players inactive.

Jalen Hurts is an All-Pro, an MVP candidate, one of the NFL’s highest paid players, and a guy who has seen his profile rise in the last year and a half.
Hurts has deals with Jordan Brand, BeatsByDre, and A-Shoc among others, and the Eagles star has now added a Time Magazine cover to his resume after landing the Sports Illustrated a few weeks back.
Hurts was featured on Time’s Next 100 rising stars, an annual look at the rising leaders in health, climate, business, sports, the arts and more

The Miami Dolphins are traveling to Foxborough this week to take on the New England Patriots on Sunday evening for a Week 2 matchup.
Miami enters this weekend 1-0 having defeated the Los Angeles Chargers in a shootout in Week 1. They’re clearly one of the most talented teams in the league, but their defense really needs to improve if they want to reach their potential.
Bill Belichick’s Patriots started the year 0-1, as they lost a close battle with the Philadelphia Eagles in their season opener. Their defense looked strong, slowing down Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, but their offense was inconsistent, which led them to the loss

Best bets for Week 2 Thursday Night Football, including DeVonta Smith's receiving yards total.

It seems the impressive performances from the defensive backs of the Cleveland Browns didn’t go unnoticed around the league. Former All-Pro cornerback and current Philadelphia Eagle Darius Slay commented on the performance saying they were “locked in.”
Jim Schwartz was able to be creative in his rush packages in large part because he was able to trust his defensive backs to be where they should be. It was refreshing to watch the group communicate and not have blow assignments and coverages as we saw so often last year under Joe Woods

A team already dealing with injuries could be without their slot cornerback after Avonte Maddox exited Thursday night’s home opener with a shoulder injury.
Injury Update: WR Quez Watkins (hamstring) and CB Avonte Maddox (shoulder) are both questionable to return.
— Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) September 15, 2023
Maddox exits with three tackles on the night, and he’ll be replaced in the slot by Mario Goodrich, with James Bradberry unable to slide down due to a concussion

The Eagles are already banged up at multiple positions and now could be without Quez Watkins after the wide receiver exited the matchup against the Vikings with a hamstring injury.
Watkins is questionable to return with the first half winding down.

Watkins exits the contest with Philadelphia trailing 7-3 without a catch or target

Jalen Carter had a heckuva NFL debut with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. According to Zebra statistics, Carter tied a rookie NFL record for most pressures for a rookie defensive tackle in a game over the last five seasons. He recorded six pressures and one sack on 32 total pass rushes against the New England Patriots. Did the Bears make a mistake in not drafting the Georgia product?Flashback to the 2023 NFL draft in April. The Bears owned the No. 9 pick in the draft. When the clock started o
