Welcome to Week 2 of the 2023 season, where the Indianapolis Colts play at NRG Stadium against the Houston Texans.
It’s a new era for the organization with many new faces, including head coach Shane Steichen and franchise quarterback Anthony Richardson. The team is anxious to get rolling, but wins will not come easy for a roster that has also been revamped and missing one of its most dynamic players.
Here are the keys to victory for taking down the Texans

Game News

The Indianapolis Colts (1-1) got off to a hot start in Week 2 after starting the game with a 14-0 with 9:13 left in the first quarter after a pair of Anthony Richardson rushing touchdowns.
Despite losing Richardson in the first half due to a concussion, the offense didn’t miss a beat with Gardner Minshew taking over. On his first drive of the game, Minshew led Indy on a 76-yard touchdown drive to extend the lead to 21-7.
The Colts would go on to not give up that two-score lead for the remainder of the game despite the effort from C.J. Stroud and the Texans offense. The defense was able to do their part by bottling up Dameon Pierce and getting pressure on Stroud throughout the afternoon. There was a lot to like in the first win in the Shane Steichen era

Broncos legend Champ Bailey didn’t need to stand on the Folsom Field sidelines to believe CSU defensive back Henry Blackburn’s hit on CU's Travis Hunter came with bad intentions.

Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly suffered a concussion during the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.
Kelly is the second Colts player to be ruled out due to a concussion after quarterback Anthony Richardson was ruled out during the second quarter of the game after slamming his head on the turf on his second rushing touchdown.

The Houston Texans didn’t have great offerings in fantasy football in Week 1. However, it wasn’t terrible or disheartening. Quarterback CJ Stroud looked the part, and Houston’s defense looked like they would bend but not break through four quarters. Yes, they lost the game, but it wasn’t a complete blowout.
There were a few disappointments in fantasy football for the Texans however, like running back Dameon Pierce and wide receiver Tank Dell. There were some strong fantasy performances. Wideout Nico Collins and Robert Woods stood out

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud finally got on the scoreboard.
The No. 2 overall pick threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to receiver Nico Collins on a third-and-6 in the first quarter against the Indianapolis Colts Sunday afternoon at NRG Stadium.
The Texans had fallen down 14-0 early, and Stroud even had a lost fumble that contributed to a short Colts scoring drive. However, the former Ohio State product rebounded and found a former Michigan Wolverine to get the Texans back in the game

Houston, we have a quarterback.
It was a day that was otherwise filled with complete disappointment. The Houston Texans home opener was quickly drained of all enthusiasm when Indianapolis rookie Anthony Richardson opened with a quick two touchdowns on the ground to take a 14-0 lead. Truthfully, very little improved throughout the course of the afternoon as Houston lost a winnable game to the division rival Indianapolis Colts 31-20.
Everyone in attendance or watching at home, however, did walk away with an important takeaway. Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud appears very much deserving of his draft selection

The Houston Texans gave their fans optimism despite the Week 1 loss. Quarterback C.J. Stroud didn’t look shaken or stirred by the Baltimore Ravens defense in his first career start.
The optimism is tainted as the No. 2 overall pick is questionable for the Week 2 showdown with the Indianapolis Colts and No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson.
Is it already Davis Mills time again in Houston?

The Houston Texans may have to see what else they have in reserve to keep C.J. Stroud upright against the Indianapolis Colts.
According to Adam Schefter from ESPN, the Texans expect to be without three-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil in Week 2 as they host their AFC South rivals at NRG Stadium.
Houston tinkered with their game day activations to provide for such an accommodation. The Texans signed center-guard Michael Deiter from the practice squad to the active roster, and also deemed second-year tackle Austin Deculus as one of their two standard elevations from the practice squad

The Houston Texans have declared their inactives for Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Central Time at NRG Stadium.
The biggest name on the list is left tackle Laremy Tunsil (knee), who will miss his first game since Week 6, 2021.
Safeties Jimmie Ward (hip) and Jalen Pitre (chest) were declared out on Friday.
Quarterback Case Keenum, running back Mike Boone, linebacker Neville Hewitt (illness), and cornerback Alex Austin were the other inactives for Houston

The Houston Texans are being tested at a position that is already taking on attrition.
The team announced Sunday afternoon safety Eric Murray is begin evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return against the Indianapolis Colts.
Houston already entered the contest down their two starting safeties in Jalen Pitre and Jimmie Ward. Pitre was nixed due to a bruised lung from Week 1 while Ward had a hip injury that prevented him from playing on Opening Day.
The Texans have been giving more snaps to Grayland Arnold as the defense looks for ways to plug yet another hole on the backend
