Avoiding an 0-2 hole to start the season won’t be easy for the Cincinnati Bengals with the Baltimore Ravens in town.
Those Ravens arrive 1-0 after a 25-9 win over Houston. Lamar Jackson didn’t throw a touchdown, but he led the team in rushing and posted a 17-of-22 line in a new-look offense that boasts two great receivers and a tight end in Mark Andrews who has given the Bengals fits for years.
More Bengals-centric and important, though, is the simple fact the Bengals look rusty.
That includes Joe Burrow, who threw for a paltry 82 yards on a 14-of-31 line last week in the 24-3 loss to Cleveland

Cincinnati Bengals safety Nick Scott suffered an injury on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens and needed the help of trainers to leave the field.
The injury occurred when Scott hit Ravens tight end Mark Andrews over the middle. After remaining down, Scott walked off with trainers and went to the locker room.
Scott had previously left the field and entered the blue medical tent earlier in the game but later returned. While he was out, rookie Jordan Battle received some snaps next to the other starting safety, Dax Hill

The Ravens had decisive moments in the first half and held a 13-10 lead over the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.
Cincinnati’s struggles continue on offense, as they’re still looking for their first touchdown of the season, but they were stout on defense and held Baltimore to two field goals and one Gus Edwards touchdown.
Justin Tucker’s second field goal of the afternoon broke a 10-10 tie as time expired in the first half and put the Ravens ahead.
With the second half underway, here are key takeaways from the first half

Baltimore is returning to the scene of late-season heartbreak, and the last time the Ravens were in Paycor Stadium, Bengals left end Sam Hubbard delivered a knockout blow in a Wild Card win.
With the Ravens on the Bengals 1-yard line looking to break a 17-17 tie early in the fourth quarter, middle linebacker Logan Wilson punched the ball out of the hands of Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley.
Hubbard scooped up the fumble and returned it 99 yards for the winning score.
Lamar Jackson is back, and Baltimore has a loaded skill position group led by Odell Beckham, Mark Andrews, and Zay Flowers

The Ravens have released their inactives ahead of their road matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, where Baltimore is looking to keep their AFC North rivals winless on the season.
Offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley (knee), center Tyler Linderbaum (ankle), cornerback Marlon Humphrey (foot), safety Marcus Williams (pectoral), cornerback Arthur Maulet, tight end Charlie Kolar, and quarterback Tyler Huntley (3rd QB) are all inactive.

Little by little, it was obvious on Sunday that the Cincinnati Bengals offense was getting it together after a slow start to the season.
That point was no better emphasized than by a touchdown pass from Joe Burrow to Tee Higgins in the third quarter.
After a lengthy drive down the field, Burrow stood tall under some immense pressure (not long after a roughing-the-passer flag, no less) and found Higgins for a relatively easy touchdown.
For his part, Higgins made the athletic catch, then hit a Baltimore-inspired dance to celebrate as the Bengals moved within three points during the AFC North slugfest

Joe Burrow's calf is sore again, and that means this year's 0-2 start may not be like last year's for the Bengals.

The Cincinnati Bengals have a way of generating big reactions when they get together with the Baltimore Ravens.
This time it’s because of a loss to those Ravens, a 27-24 affair that moved the Bengals to 0-2 on the season.
It wasn’t Sam Hubbard’s fumble return for a touchdown from the playoff game by any means, but Sunday’s matchup had plenty of big moments.
One of the biggest was Joe Burrow limping off the field late.
A slow start from Burrow’s offense, big plays by rookies and key moments had fans talking after the game

The list of inactives for the Cincinnati Bengals looks largely similar to last week’s list as the team gets ready for kickoff against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Bengals needed Saturday to decide on a few key names, including defensive end Joseph Ossai.
Right before kickoff, the mandatory inactives list features the following names:
Running back Chris Evans was a late addition to the injury report this week and his absence means rookie Charlie Jones will get looks on kick returns in addition to punt returns. It also means the first active chance for rookie Chase Brown
