There is some positive news on the Lions injury front. Top wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is expected to play in Sunday’s matchup in New England against the Patriots, according to several morning reports.
St. Brown is officially listed as questionable with an ankle injury, one that kept him sidelined in Week 4. With fellow starting WR DJ Chark ruled out with an ankle injury of his own, getting St. Brown back in the lineup would be a huge boost to the Lions offense.
Through the first three games, St. Brown led the Lions with 23 receptions and 253 receiving yards. He also scored three touchdowns in helping lead the Lions to the top streak of touchdown-scoring quarters in team history

It feels like a lot has changed for the Cowboys since the last time they took on the Rams. Mike McCarthy and Dallas opened his tenure and their 2020 season on the road in Los Angeles, opening of SoFi Stadium with the first regular season game. Quarterback Dak Prescott is not on his third injury since and won’t be suiting up in this contest, replaced by Cooper Rush who looks for his fifth-straight win to start his career. On the opposite side, Jared Goff is gone, replaced by veteran Matt Stafford who went to and won a Super Bowl in his first year working with Sean McVay
#Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is listed as questionable with the ankle injury that sidelined him last week, is expected to play today against the #Patriots, per source.
Snowball effect here. Lions mistakes just compounding on one another. Craig Reynolds can't take a 7-yard loss by running backwards on third-and-2. Campbell shouldn't have gone for it on fourth-and-9. He does, Sewell gets beat and Goff fumbles. Ugly sequence
Dan Campbell: "I believe we've hit rock bottom, now it's time to get back up."
Jones stole the ball from T.J. Hockenson, then showed remarkable dexterity to stay in-bounds.
man alive some of the Lions' jet/screen RPO stuff is going to really explode when Jameson Williams puts the uniform on
Lions safety DeShon Elliott: "We got to be a different team coming out of the bye week. 1-4 going into the bye week is horrible. That's disgusting."
Based on warmups, looks like Will Harris and Jeff Okudah are the cornerbacks, Saivion Smith and Kerby Joseph are the safeties
Lions are now 0-5 on fourth down. Raekwon McMillan just stuffed Justin Jackson on fourth-and-1
Solid attempt for Zappe, but his third-down pass to Henry is broken up by Alex Anzalone
How many times this season has Aidan Hutchinson blown into the backfield, then whiffed on the quarterback, allowing him to run down the field?
Lions make Amani Oruwariye inactice for today's game vs. the Patriots. Oruwariye has struggled this season coming off a 6-INT season. Benched today as part of Lions defensive changes.
#Lions Injury Update: CB Will Harris (groin) has been downgraded to Out. S Ifeatu Melifonwu, Ankle, Questionable
Detroit Lions inactives: CB Amani Oruwariye (healthy scratch) WR DJ Chark RB D'Andre Swift DL Charles Harris DL John Cominsky S JuJu Hughes T Matt Nelson
Lions' secondary right now: CB Bobby Price (usually a gunner) CB Mike Hughes (usually a slot) Slot A.J. Parker S Kerby Joseph (in for Tracy Walker) S Ifeatu Melifonwu (NFL debut at position)
Rookie CB Chase Lucas is now playing safety for Lions. #DETvsNE
Kerby Joseph now shaken up for Lions. At this rate, they are going to regret having Oruwariye and Hughes inactive today. #DETvsNE
Good 47-yard kickoff return by Maurice Alexander to give Lions great field position. He had a couple nice returns in the preseason, too. #DETvsNE
Sounds like AJ Parker could play as the primary nickel today. Didn't catch who was doing it in warmups, tbh. But that's the expectation of some close to him at least. Big changes in the secondary.
Jack Fox just came [this close] to hitting a cheerleader like 70 yards downfield. Ball was coming right for her head, one of the (I think) audio techs batted down the ball right in front of her face Best punter in the league imo
The New England Patriots, clad in their classic red Pat Patriot getup, sent the No. 1 ranked Detroit Lions offense through the woodchipper on Sunday, holding them scoreless throughout the duration of the contest.
It was running back Rhamondre Stevenson and wide reciever Jakobi Meyers leading the way for New England’s offense all game, with Stevenson rushing for 161 yards and Meyers catching seven receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown.
While the Patriots were still without starting quarterback Mac Jones, rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe looked comfortable in his stead, throwing for a solid 188 yards and a touchdown, while also adding an interception
Patriots QB Bailey Zappe got a jump on Lions film last Sunday night, showed up Monday and impressed many at Gillette with his early work, prepped all week like the starter and has become a popular teammate in a short amount of time. You saw it all come together today.
Warming up with Moses Cabrera: Tyquan Thornton, Kendrick Bourne, Jakobi Meyers, Sam Roberts, Damien Harris, Matt Sokol, Brenden Schooler, Jake Bailey, Hunter Henry, Bailey Zappe, Jahlani Tavai, Adrian Phillips, Devin McCourty, Matt Slater, Myles Bryant, Mack Wilson, Jon Jones
Bill Belichick on Rhamondre Stevenson: "A good all-around back. Love him."
That interception isn't on Bailey Zappe. Nelson Agholor needs to catch that.
Patriots' QB Mac Jones, listed as doubtful for Sunday due to his ankle injury, is not expected to play vs. the Lions, per source. Rookie QB Bailey Zappe makes his first NFL start.
There it is. Matthew Judon the first Patriots player to record at least one sack in each of the first five games in a season. twitter.com/MikeReiss/stat…
Matthew Judon just changing games. Lions provide a gift with the decision to go for it on fourth-and-9, and Judon makes them pay ... with Kyle Dugger cleaning it up. Defense leading the way today.
Five targets, four catches, four first downs for Hunter Henry thus far. His best performance of the season after a quiet first four weeks.
DeVante Parker doesn't have a catch today, but he's picked up two deep DPI calls totaling 47 yards.

Davon Godchaux: If you go for it on fourth-and-1 on your side of the field, I think it's a sign of disrespect. Thank God we were able to stop them. We've got to continue to build on this
Rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe will be making his first official NFL start against the Detroit Lions with New England Patriots starting quarterback, Mac Jones, listed as out for Sunday’s game.
Jones was making a push to play after being upgraded as a limited participant at practice this week. However, he still needs more time to recover from the high ankle sprain he suffered in the team’s Week 3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Patriots will also be without tight end Jonnu Smith, who went down with an ankle injury against the Green Bay Packers last week
That looked like a late hit by the Lions on Marcus Jones. Hope he's OK

First punt of the day from Jake Bailey comes with 11:13 left in the game. As expected.
Great open-field blocking from Trent Brown on Stevenson's third-down conversion. Patriots have liked running behind him lately.
