#Saints QB Jameis Winston, who is questionable because of back and ankle injuries, is expected to play, sources say. As is RB Alvin Kamara, who missed last week. But QB Taysom Hill (rib) is not slated to be out there.

Saints QB Jameis Winston warming up as usual now that players are coming out in uniform at Carolina
Jarvis Landry is now questionable to return with his ankle injury. Status downgraded
Laviska Shenault Jr.’s role with the Carolina Panthers hasn’t really been clear. Heck, he hadn’t even been active prior to today’s Week 3 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
But one thing does remain apparent about the third-year wideout—his skill when the rock in his hands.
After holding New Orleans off the scoreboard for three quarters, the Carolina defense finally cracked—allowing a 5-yard touchdown to running back Mark Ingram with 12:31 remaining in the game. The score cut the Panthers’ lead to 13-7
Tre'Quan Smith had a lot of nice plays on that drive
Very costly missed tackles there by PJ Williams and Tyrann Mathieu. Team is now going to need at least two drives on offense to get back in this.
Marcus Maye, Tony Jones Jr., Taysom Hill, Deonte Harty and Wyatt Davis are inactive
Michael Thomas is out of the injury tent and back on the sideline. Testing out his legs now
Marquez Callaway's first catch of the season was a doozy
Pete Werner has already racked up a bunch of tackles again today. The Panthers have run 16 offensive plays and Werner has four tackles.
Disasters continue for Saints offense as Wil Lutz misses FG wide right. Saints 0-for-2 on field goals today after the earlier block.
Saints now have at least 5 offensive penalties with a false start by TE Adam Trautman. Plus a lost fumble. Killing themselves.
Saints will punt again -- and could've been worse. TE Juwan Johnson essentially batted down a risky pass that could've been intercepted with Winston under pressure.
Andrus Peat (Concussion) is out for the remainder of the game
Dennis Allen: Really, we're beating ourselves … and that's got to stop
Pete Carmichael might want to think about going up-tempo here to inject some juice into this offense. Pretty lifeless so far.
Demario Davis breaks up the Panthers 4th down pass attempt.
So the first time we hear the name Daniel Sorensen this year is for a penalty. Welcome to the #Saints I guess.
Payton Turner is active after he was a healthy scratch last week. Saints have 5 DEs active today (Cam Jordan, Marcus Davenport, Carl Granderson, Tanoh Kpassagnon and Turner) Nick Vannett and Tre'Quan Smith are active for the first time this season.
J.T. Gray and Carl Granderson combined for that sack. First sack (well, 1/2 a sack) of Gray's career.
Say hello to Laviska Shenault, catch-and-run for a 67-yard TD.
Panthers finished the first half with 97 yards on offense. 1 of 6 on first down. Baker Mayfield sacked three times. And they're winning 13-0 because the Saints' offense has been so much worse.
Eddy Pineiro hasn't missed a kick since the Panthers signed him. His 48-yard FG gives CAR a 13-0 lead with 2:56 left in 1H.

With a nine-game losing streak, the wins and improvement must come. But #Panthers owner David Tepper is planning to be patient with coach Matt Rhule, sources say. And no change is imminent.  My story: nfl.com/news/panthers-…
Derrick Brown has better hands than Terrace Marshall Jr apparently.
Panthers beat Saints 22-14 as Christian McCaffrey rushes for 108 yards. wp.me/pbBqYq-cnB0
Derrick Brown's INT was the first by a Panthers defensive lineman since 2018. The last happened nearly four years to the day - Efe Obada in Week 3 against Washington. h/t @Pantherstatsguy
Rashard Higgins was in for the first time on that third-down play (and was well covered). Panthers settle for 45-yard Eddy Pineiro FG. They lead 10-0.
Matt Rhule: "Obviously not a perfect game." "Excited for the guys."
Jaycee Horn has played the Saints, his dad's team, twice. He now has an INT in each game.
Moore caught just one of six targets for two yards in Sunday's 22-14 win over the Saints. He also rushed twice for 13 yards.
Moore led the Panthers in targets but failed to produce on a day quarterback Baker Mayfield again completed under half of his attempts. While Moore's status atop Carolina's receiving corps helps his stock, he's yet to surpass 50 scrimmage yards through three games. He and Mayfield will hope to finally get going in Week 4 versus the Cardinals.
Matt Rhule on the Frankie Luvu strip/Marquis Haynes TD: "I think it just unleashed the spirit of the defense."
Jeremy Chinn with the big sack on third down, a loss of 11. Pushes the field goal attempt back to 48 yards, and the Saints miss it.
Helluva punt by Johnny Hekker. Saints will have to go 99 yards in 17 seconds, out of timeouts.
Donte Jackson, who had a hamstring injury last week, has a neck injury this week. He's questionable to return.

Why did the Carolina Panthers trade for Laviska Shenault Jr.?
By the time of the deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars back on Aug. 29, the wide receivers room was already a bit crowded. Heck, even 2021 second-round pick Terrace Marshall Jr. had trouble holding down a spot.
Plus, the 23-year-old Shenault Jr. was walking into quite the uphill battle. Between learning offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo’s exhaustive playbook and battling for prospective touches, he needed some time to acclimate.
Well, he has—and we finally have a firm answer as to why the Panthers made that move for him
Zak Wallace ran for 204 yards on 11 carries and scored twice while Sam Franklin totaled three touchdowns rushing and UT Martin wore down Lindenwood in a 56-26 win.
