Kenyon Green needs to figure some things out this off-season.

Good news: the Houston Texans had a first-and-goal from the Dallas Cowboys’ 4-yard line with 5:37 to go in the game leading 23-20.

Bad news: running back Dameon Pierce was injured and unavailable.

The rookie sustained an ankle injury early in the fourth quarter and was questionable to return. Although Pierce did return for a 2-yard carry up the middle on third-and-1 from the Houston 34-yard line with 10:50 to go, it was his last touch of the afternoon.

From the Dallas 4-yard line, the Texans weren’t able to punch in the insurance touchdown, and ultimately turned the ball over on downs after a run to Rex Burkhead, a run from Jeff Driskel, an incomplete pass, and another run from Driskel

Cornerback Steven Nelson is considered questionable to return after sustaining an ankle injury against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14. He is the third Texan to leave the game after injuries to rookies Christian Harris and Kenyon Green shook up Houston’s depth chart earlier in the half.

Nelson has been a rock-solid contributor for the Texans’ defense this season and is one of the more experienced players in the team’s secondary. He has shown an ability to play sticky coverage and make difficult tackles against opponents who attempt to gain yardage when throwing his way. His loss will force the Texans to turn to their depth at the cornerback position, which was already affected by an injury to Derek Stingley Jr. heading into this matchup

Rookie linebacker Christian Harris went down in the third quarter of the Houston Texans’ Week 14 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys with an unspecified injury. Play was stopped while he was attended to, and backup Jalen Reeves-Maybin was called on to replace him following the injury. He would walk to the locker room under his own power.

The loss of Harris could be a huge development in the game, as Houston’s defense is ill-equipped to keep up with the Cowboys’ high-octane offense. Dallas hosts an impressive cast of offensive talent that can make life difficult for any defense both in the running and passing games

The Houston Texans have designated their two players from the practice squad to be their standard elevations for Week 14’s matchup with the Dallas Cowboys Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Central Time at AT&T Stadium.

The Texans will elevate quarterback Jeff Driskel and receiver Jalen Camp to the game day roster.

Houston could especially use Camp as they are down their top two receivers in Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins. Cooks is out with a calf injury while Collins has a foot injury.

Camp was active in Week 9 on Thursday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles and caught one pass for seven yards as part of his 15 offensive snaps

The Houston Texans may give all of their snaps at left guard to rookie Kenyon Green against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Texans downgraded guard Justin McCray to out and left him behind in Houston. McCray had been listed on questionable on Friday’s injury report with a hamstring injury.

Although McCray had not logged a start since Oct. 30 against the Tennessee Titans in a 17-10 loss at NRG Stadium, the 6-3, 315-pound interior offensive lineman had split time with Green at left guard, contributing with 22 and 29 snaps in the last two games
