The Bills had their starting quarterback out on the field for their first series on offense against the Broncos in the second week of the preseason.
And that was it and all anyone needed to see.
Allen helped lead a six-play, 70-yard scoring drive. The conclusion was particularly nice.
Going through a few quick reads on a drop-back, Allen had nothing. The QB looked to scramble, couldn’t, and ended up connecting with receiver Gabe Davis 28 yards down the field for a touchdown anyways

OJ Howard did not play on the opening drive. Tommy Sweeney, Quintin Morris and Reggie Gilliam all did.
Isaiah Hodgins took out a blocker to spring Nick McCloud on the kickoff. McCloud had a big hit on the returner, but he bounced off and ran it back to the 36. Have to make that tackle.
In the Buffalo Bills’ preseason opener, a lot of their 2022 NFL draft class impressed from top-to-bottom.
Sticking with the latter, among that grouping was Baylon Spector.
The linebacker who was Buffalo’s last selection at the recent draft in the seventh round had a positive outing. At the top, he had a game-high 10 tackles.
Spector was not perfect by any means. He was beat in coverage, but such things are expected from a Round 7 rookie.
What wasn’t expected was a sack that was waived off due to a penalty and other splash players near the line of scrimmage
