Game News
Taylor Heinicke just tried to kill his running back. His ball to J.D. McKissic was high, and Darnell Savage damn near ran straight through McKissic's soul.
Six weeks from suffering a hip subluxation, Washington starting QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is still on crutches, weeks away from returning. It's Taylor Heinicke going forward: nfl.com/news/washingto…
McLaurin notched seven receptions on 12 targets for 122 yards and one touchdown against Green Bay on Sunday.
McLaurin had his hamstring injury designation removed Friday, and if his production against the Packers is any indication, the issue really was a thing of the past. McLaurin produced 45.5 percent of Washington's receiving yardage on the day on just over 32 percent of the targets. By now McLaurin is a proven, time-tested candidate to carry a disproportionately large share of the Washington passing game even while drastically outplaying the efficiency levels of his teammates. Washington heads to Denver on Sunday for their Week 8 matchup, and the Broncos better hope they have their secondary in order by then.
Very similar INT to the one Heinicke threw trying to hit Curtis Samuel a few weeks ago. Never really there, but ball needs to be deep and outside to back corner of the end zone. Instead, it's floaty and short, easy for DB to turn and INT it. pic.twitter.com/KqW1zGujaV
Washington's DL is active today. Jon Allen sacks Rodgers there. Meanwhile, looks like Chase Young got poked in the eye. He walked off.
New #WashingtonFootball kicker Chris Blewitt just ended an accurate warmup at Lambeau Field by hitting a 62-yarder with a little wind at his back. pic.twitter.com/aiQpOClhKg
Turnover on downs Washington. The offense stays on the field, and Heinicke's pass for Ricky Seals-Jones is incomplete.
Tonyan got matched against middle linebacker Jamin Davis and ate. Perfect route down the seam and Rodgers finds him.
The robust activity remains. Allen with a 2nd sack and Montez Sweat all around Rodgers. twitter.com/BenStandig/sta…
As @BenStandig tweeted , CB William Jackson is indeed out today. Was always very iffy; now it's definite
WR Dyami Brown is questionable to return with a knee injury
Rivera said he "loved" Landon Collins' role. Thought he made an impact on multiple levels (he did).
Kendall Fuller really didn't do a hell of a lot wrong here, Adams just made an outstanding catch pic.twitter.com/9Zj8Co14XU
Jonathan Allen said the team is "close," but added, "Losing teams find ways to lose."
#WFT will be without 3 starters today vs. #Packers: CB William Jackson, G Brandon Scherff and T Sam Cosmi. Also, former GB TE Jace Sternberger is inactive.

Robert Tonyan says he has had to step back and reevaluate what success means for his game this season: "I kind of had to realize that stats don't define being better than last year." He's pleased to have gotten first TD since Week 2, but says he's found other ways to help team.
If the Packers win today, it will be their fifth streak of six straight wins within a single season since Aaron Rodgers took over as the starter. He has a 13-game winning streak in 2011 plus 6-game streaks 2015, 2016 and 2020.

Corey Bojorquez might be the best player in the NFL.
That's two fumbles today for AJ Dillon. Packers recovered the first, but not the second. Brutal day for the running game.
A field goal by Green Bay makes the score 24-7. Washington provided solid coverage on 3rd and 20 to force Mason Crosby on the field. Washington takes over with about 11 minutes left to play.

Allen Lazard had five catches for 60 yards and a TD on that last drive for the Packers. He had 10 catches for 124 yards and 1 TD in the first six games combined.
How Darnell Savage wasn't able to fall on that fumble I don't know.

Whitney Mercilus with the QB hit to force the incompletion after signing with the Packers three seconds ago.
De'Vondre Campbell has forced two fumbles in four plays. Washington has fumbled on three of its last five plays.
Injury update: CB Rasul Douglas (shoulder) is questionable to return. #WASvsGB
#Packers Randall Cobb tried to play this off like dudes do when they trip in public… hit that little jog like you meant to do it 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/5OXHccPAmC
Rookie fifth-round DT T.J. Slaton reached his right arm up and blocked the field goal. Packers take over at their own 32.
Rashan Gary is walking off the field with a trainer. At first it looked like he just had a shoe issue, but it might be more than that.
Preston Smith & Kevin King are both out vs. Washington. #WASvsGB inactives list 📋 packers.com/news/lb-presto…
Eric Stokes with a nice PBU on fourth down to make up for his earlier gaffe. Packers needed that after the blocked field goal.
Preston Smith knew damn well about his streak, it was important to him, and in this game, not sure it gets much more sentimental than that. twitter.com/PrestonSmith94…
Marcedes Lewis is the old dude in your city league who plays physical in the paint and outphysicals everyone
Dean Lowry gonna mess around and get himself another extension after the last couple games.
Good grief, Henry Black. And not the good kind of good grief.
Heinicke hits McLaurin for a 40-yard TD. Jaylon Smith got to Heinicke on the blitz but couldn't bring him down. Eric Stokes waved at air covering McLaurin deep. Game is tied.
As if the Packers needed more cornerback injuries, now Rasul Douglas is down after making a tackle. Isaac Yiadom now on the field. He started last week but was replaced by Douglas after one series.
#Packers inactive vs. Washington: CB Kevin King S Vernon Scott T Dennis Kelly DL Jack Heflin LB Preston Smith It's so strange to see Preston Smith on this list.
#Packers field-goal operation continues to be an adventure. Middle of the protection just gave way. Jon Runyan knocked back at the snap, Tim Settle gets the block, and no Lambeau Field didn't show a replay of that one either.
Check the Equanimeous St. Brown jet sweep for 13 yards off your bingo card.
And another red-zone stop. Joe Barry, defensive coordinator for life. Sullivan with the pick.
Ugh, Kenny Clark hobbles off and Rasul Douglas is down.
Heinicke gonna target McLaurin all day with Jaire Alexander out. He's 3/3 for 58 yards and a TD, all that to McLaurin.
Oren Burks getting some run at outside linebacker. That's the state of things for the Packers on the edge right now.
