FINAL: #Chargers 30, Chiefs 24 The first signature win of the Brandon Staley era. He earns it with two aggressive fourth-down decisions in the fourth quarter. Mike Williams with the game-winning TD to put an exclamation point on a career day.
Chargers S Derwin James has a shoulder injury and is questionable to return. Ugh.
#Chargers pass-rusher Joey Bosa, questionable with foot and ankle injuries, is still a game-time decision despite not practicing this week. He's sore, but he's improved every day and does have a more than realistic chance to get on the field.

Three points allowed and three turnovers forced. Heck of a first half by the Chargers D. DBs playing well; LB Drue Tranquill flying around, too (4 tackles, one TFL, half sack).
The Chargers announced they have promoted edge defender Emeke Egbule and defensive lineman Joe Gaziano to the active roster from the practice squad ahead of their Week 3 matchup against the Chiefs.
The team also downgraded Justin Jones, who had been listed as questionable, to out. This marks the second straight week that Jones will be unavailable. The fourth-year player is currently dealing with a calf injury.
Gaziano got the call up last weekend against the Cowboys in Jones’ absence over Breiden Fehoko and Forrest Merrill
Head Coach Andy Reid felt ill at the conclusion of the game. He was evaluated by our medical staff in the locker room, & as a precaution, was transported to The University of Kansas Health System for further evaluation. Coach is doing well, currently resting & in stable condition
New story. Four turnovers later, the Chiefs believe they beat themselves in their loss to the Chargers. "If we don't have four turnovers, I feel like this is a completely different outcome of the game," Clyde Edwards-Helaire said. theathletic.com/2850932/2021/0…
Mecole Hardman has had a hell of a game.
Hill secured five of seven targets for 56 yards and rushed once for 11 yards in the Chiefs' 30-24 loss to the Chargers on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
It was mostly a rough go of it for the superstar speedster for the second consecutive week, although Hill's final line was at least an improvement over the 29 total yards he'd garnered in Week 2 against the Ravens. Hill's fumble was costly as well even though it came late in the first quarter, as it occurred at the Chargers' 14-yard line following an eight-yard catch and led to Los Angeles' first touchdown of the day. Hill will look to bounce back from his pair of duds when he and the Chiefs travel to Philadelphia for a Week 4 battle against the Eagles.
Patrick Mahomes has started 9 consecutive regular-season games in which the score was decided by 6 or fewer points. Per @EliasSports, this is tied for the longest streak by any QB since 1950. Who is Mahomes tied with? Joe Flacco (2015-16).
Chiefs' DE Frank Clark, listed as doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Chargers, will not play; Kansas City is optimistic that DE Chris Jones, who is listed questionable with a wrist injury, will play, per sources.
Derwin James said he bumped into Travis Kelce and that's why he had his shoulder checked out in the locker room. He said he felt fine after the game #Chargers
Harrison Butker makes a 34-yard kick. The Chargers lead 14-3 just before halftime.

Daniel Sorensen just saved KC's butt. Remember that play when Mahomes is on his fourth consecutive TD drive in 90 minutes.
A must-win game for the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3 will be a huge opportunity to extend their run of dominance in the AFC West for the first time this season. Second-year quarterback and 2020 rookie of the year Justin Herbert presents a major challenge for Tyrann Mathieu and the Chiefs’ defense, which has struggled mightily in their first two matchups of 2021.
This scrap between rivals that are so familiar with each other will decide the outlook of the division heading into the middle of their schedules. Los Angeles will be highly motivated to get an early leg up on Kansas City while they can, and are sure to put up a good fight to secure their place ahead of the Chiefs early in the season. Andy Reid needs a bounce back from his team after a tough loss to Baltimore, and the team’s ability to dominate these four aspects of the game could be the difference between 1-2 or 2-1 for Kansas City ahead of Week 4

Anthony Hitchens has been the Chiefs' best defender today. And he had a minor surgery on Monday.
