J.J. Taylor is out for an early look at the field. The second-year RB was inactive last week, but after fumbles by Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson, this could be an indication he will be on the game-day roster against the Jets. pic.twitter.com/bwpLPxTqO3

Game News
Mac Jones' work ethic has impressed the Patriots from the start, but it sounds like he took it to another level this week as they prepared for the Jets. Despite going 29 of 39 for 281 yards and a TD in his debut, the loss didn't sit well and he thought he should've been better.
Jakobi Meyers is good. That was a 24-yard reception from the receiver. Nice throw as well.
Quick-hit thoughts/notes around the Patriots and NFL (James White's rebound; Mac Jones breathes new life into Patriots; 'Do Your Job' vs. 'All Gas No Brake'; clarity at kicker with no Robbie Gould repeat; longest streak without 0-2 on the line etc.). es.pn/3i5LQMT
TE Jonnu Smith is active today after having been listed as questionable (hip). He played 55 snaps in the opener, while Hunter Henry played 54. Two-TE attack still in business vs. the Jets.
Mac Jones in a little bit of a rhythm during this 2-minute drill. Protection has been there for him, particularly on two 10-yard gainers to Hunter Henry and Nelson Agholor. The third-down throw to Henry required the Patriots to pick up some pressure, and they did.
The New England Patriots have made a change at running back for Week 2, with the team opting to make a healthy Rhamondre Stevenson inactive and J.J. Taylor joining the active roster.
In Week 1, the Patriots had Stevenson active and Taylor out, but Stevenson fumbled, which should keep him off the field for the foreseeable future. It’s Taylor’s chance to prove himself after making the team as an undrafted free agent in 2020. Taylor can contribute on all four downs, with strong work as a runner, pass-catcher and return man
Nick Folk hit FGs from 46, 49, 32 and 26, with Bill Belichick saying "it was not the easiest day to kick" with the wind "kind of swirling out there. Folk now has the Patriots' franchise record for consecutive FGs, at 33. "He banged through a lot of big kicks there," BB said. pic.twitter.com/lOBehvPxF8
Patriots inactives: RB Rhamondre Stevenson, CB Shaun Wade, TE Devin Asiasi, OLB Ronnie Perkins, OT Trent Brown, OLB Kyle Van Noy. The Patriots only need to list 6 players as inactive, with the roster at 52 players.
Backup right tackle Yasir Durant has given up three sacks in his first 22 minutes of the game.
A change at right tackle -- Justin Herron in the game.
Mac Jones looked frustrated with himself after that miss fire to Hunter Henry
When you intercept two passes and are one of the players of the game … J.C. Jackson at the mic post-game. pic.twitter.com/IXqpaM2BUI
Matt Judon just checked himself out of the game, and limped over to the sideline. He's getting checked out by the athletic training and medical staff.
Greg Van Roten with a horrible block on that 3rd & goal run. Thrown aside by Lawrence Guy. Why not run behind AVT if you're going to do that?

Bill Belichick arrives for his post-game news conference, is pleased to see Linda Holliday, and then talks about how he is proud of the team. pic.twitter.com/1rlT9bM9vJ
Josh Uche didn't see much playing time before halftime, but he's come on strong with two late sacks. Up to three on the season for the young LB.
JC Jackson has 20 picks in 23 starts. Nonetheless!! He is sitting to start this series with Joejuan Williams on ...
At this point, if I'm at the Patriots, I think about moving Michael Onwenu to RT and Ted Karras at LG. You can't convince me that wouldn't better.
Hasn't been a great start to the season for Isaiah Wynn.
Robert Saleh just jogged over to give Pats backup QB Brian Hoyer a hug. Hoyer was with 49ers in 2017. Jets had him in for a visit this offseason but opted not to sign him.
Dropped in the bucket. Let the water flow, Josh McDaniels!
Defensive starters for Patriots (big nickel): DT: Deatrich Wise Jr. DT: Davon Godchaux DT: Lawrence Guy ILB: Ja'Whaun Bentley ILB: Dont'a Hightower OLB: Matt Judon CB: J.C. Jackson CB: Jalen Mills S: Kyle Dugger S: Adrian Phillips S: Devin McCourty
Fourth-and-2: Jonathan Jones with a great breakup over Braxton Berrios. Turnover on downs.
Like to see that from Christian Barmore on the first down run. Tossed the offensive lineman aside like a dirty dish rag and makes the play. #Patriots
Am I seeing it right that Tashawn Bower, off the practice squad, is playing more than Uche and Winovich?
Punterception! Devin McCourty could have called for a fair catch on that one. Wilson's 4th INT of the day on just 11 pass attempts
Believe that's the first time Jake Bailey has put a kickoff out of bounds in his NFL career.
JC Jackson is standing on the sideline with his helmet on. Joejuan Williams and Jalen Mills started this series at CB.
No Stephon Gilmore, no problem.
The New England Patriots’ secondary secured four interceptions in a promising 25-6 victory over the New York Jets. Mac Jones continued to impress with a high completion rate (73%) while throwing 22 of 30 for 186 yards. Although he didn’t take the top off with any big plays, he was efficient and accurate.
J.C. Jackson grabbed two of the team’s interceptions, building off the momentum of he had last year with second-most picks in the NFL. The other major storyline was the play of Damien Harris and James White, who totaled 82 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns
Zach Wilson will be fine. Bill Belichick has made plenty of young quarterbacks look like this.
Catches from Zach Wilson today: Corey Davis: two J.C. Jackson: two
Devin McCourty intercepts Zach Wilson for the Patriots defense fourth INT of the day. McCourty was 5.0 yards away from the intended receiver (Elijah Moore) when the pass arrived. 🔹 Wilson (10+ Air Yards): 1/6, 27 yards, 4 INT #NEvsNYJ | #ForeverNE pic.twitter.com/h5L3iMsevS
#Jets WR Jamison Crowder, questionable with a groin injury, is expected to play vs. the #Patriots, source said.
Denzel Mims is inactive today, a source confirms. Had a great week of practice working with the scout team. "Destroyed" the starting unit, one source said. Still out.
Michael Carter's a keeper. Make him the RB1 next week. #Jets
Third-and-goal, at the 2: Patriots stuff Ty Johnson for a loss of 1. Nice stand for the defense there. Matt Ammendola hits the 21-yard field goal. Patriots 10, Jets 3

Shaq Lawson celebrating a TFL like the #Jets just won the Super Bowl. Jets are down, 22-6, with 2:00 left.
The MetLife crowd is back in it. Another sack for the #Jets. This time it's Sheldon Rankins.

OK. Go back to running. Wilson sails one over the head of a wide-open Braxton Berrios.
Tevin Coleman breaks a run. #Jets to the #Patriots 34. Offense rolling now.
Mike LaFleur said Mims had his best week of practice before Week 1 and he played 3 snaps. Sources said Mims had a great week of practice on the scout team this week. Inactive. Hard to understand.
John Franklin-Myers. Two games. Two sacks. Came inside on the stunt. The #Jets would be wise to extend him.
Big sack by training camp standout Carl Davis. Made that a 53-yard FG try, and Matt Ammendola missed.
Marcus Maye with the big third-down sack. Pay the man.
C.J. Mosley is flying around the field. He looks good.
The last QB with 3 INT in the 1st half against the Patriots was Bucs QB Josh Johnson, in 2009 Week 7. Johnson is now on the #Jets practice squad.
