The #Texans find the end zone on a well-designed RB screen pass from Tyrod Taylor to Phillip Lindsay (22-yard TD). According to our expected YAC model, Lindsay had a higher probability of scoring when caught the ball (53.2% TD probability) than not. #HOUvsCLE | #WeAreTexans pic.twitter.com/JdlkdT2duW
With the Cleveland Browns getting ready to kickoff against the Houston Texans, we went Behind Enemy Lines with Mark Lane of Texans Wire to learn some last-minute things about the opponent this week.
From the outside looking in, Houston looked like a trainwreck this offseason, what was it like from the inside though?
It’s still a trainwreck. The only people who don’t believe it’s a trainwreck are the players and coaches inside the building, and that is partly due to David Culley’s immense optimism and consistent approach in that area. I think having Mark Ingram as a lieutenant of his also is good at spreading the message. What will always make the 2021 season a potential disaster is the Deshaun Watson front. Anytime there is a three-time Pro Bowl quarterback just sitting on the bench, it’s an issue

Texans 7th drive continued (16 plays, 63 yards, 8:08) — Houston benefited from a huge face-guarding call on third-and-6 from the Cleveland 42-yard line. The Texans got a spot foul on pass interference against WR Brandin Cooks to the Browns’ 15. On third-and-goal from the 2-yard line, QB Davis Mills hits Cooks for a touchdown on a slant. Browns, 24-21
Browns 8th drive (9 plays, 82 yards, 5:40) — S Justin Reid came back out, but then got injured on the first play of the drive and had to go back into the medical tent. The Browns’ running game had worn down the Texans’ defense to this point, and RB Nick Chubb was able to score a 26-yard touchdown. Browns, 31-2
Davis Mills is now in at QB for the Texans to begin the second half.
Texans' game captains are all former Browns players: Pharaoh Brown, Tavierre Thomas, Terrance Mitchell @SportsTalk790
David Culley says Zach Cunningham didn't play in the first quarter because of "disciplinary" reasons. When asked for specifics, he said "that's internal."
Texans take advantage of Justin Reid's interception to the Browns 47. Taylor connected with Amendola for 9 and Cooks for 22. On third and 8 from the 16, Taylor took off around right end for a touchdown and a 14-7 lead with 7:06 left in the half.
Texans wide receiver Anthony Miller is expected to be inactive Sunday against the Browns, according to a league source. Miller is healthy and has made steady progress since dislocating his shoulder in the first preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. @SportsTalk790

Laremy Tunsil out of the blue medical tent, he gave a thumb's up
David Culley declined an offsides penalty on the Browns on third down, making it fourth down, and Johnston had a touchback. If he had taken the penalty, it would have been third down and had another shot at a first down. Made no sense.
#Texans Injury Update: #83 TE Antony Auclair is out with an eye injury. #HOUvsCLE
Based on warmups, appears Marcus Cannon is starting over Charlie Heck at RT, and rookie Roy Lopez is starting at DT with Vincent Taylor out.
Texans' revamped defense has five turnovers in two games under Lovie Smith after just nine turnovers all of last season.
Browns 1st drive (4 plays, 3:02, -2 yards) — The Browns were doing a decent job moving the football, but DE Jacob Martin recorded a big third down sack. WR Andre Roberts muffed the ensuing punt.
Browns 2nd drive (4 plays, 2:02, 35 yards) — Cleveland was able to cash in with a 1-yard FB Andy Janovich touchdown. Browns, 7-0
Texans 1st drive (8 plays, 84 yards, 4:38) — Houston didn’t waver despite the negative momentum to start the game. QB Tyrod Taylor went 6-of-6 for 84 yards and a touchdown. Houston converted on their only third down — a third-and-9 — and RB Phillip Lindsay capped it off with a 22-yard touchdown pass on a screen play. 7-
Texans wide receiver Nico Collins questionable to return with shoulder injury
A terrific screen call by OC Tim Kelly. Taylor faked a reverse going left and threw back to his right on a screen for Lindsay, who picked up a great block from Scharping and scored a 22-yard touchdown. Texans tied it 7-7.

Desmond King replacing Andre Roberts as the kick returner.
HOUSTON — The injuries continue to pile up for the Houston Texans. Following the loss of Danny Amendola and Tyrod Taylor, the Texans lost tight end, Antony Auclair. Auclair sustained an eye injury midway through the third quarter and has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Auclair was elevated to the Texans’ active roster on Saturday to give Houston additional help against the Browns front seven. The extra protection was helpful, as Houston held a 14-7 lead over the Browns before injuries began to derail the game
HOUSTON — Houston Texans’ safety Eric Murray is questionable to return to Sunday’s Week 2 match against the Cleveland Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium. According to Texans PR, Murray is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return.
If Murray is unable to return, Lonnie Johnson will likely fill in the vacant void. Johnson is playing his first game of the season after returning from a thigh injury he sustained during preseason.
Prior to leaving the game due to a concussion, Murray had three tackles, one of which to prevent big yardage from Browns’ tight end, Harrison Bryant. The defensive stop helped the Texans record a three-and-out on the Browns

Jacob Martin sack #1 pic.twitter.com/i9yUd87PUx
— Rivers McCown (@riversmccown) September 19, 2021
Houston Texans defensive end Jacob Martin sacked Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield in the first quarter Sunday afternoon at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The sack was Martin’s 7.5 sack since the Texans traded for him at the end of the 2019 preseason. Martin was part of the trade that sent Jadeveon Clowney to the Seattle Seahawks. Clowney now is with the Browns, and at this point in the game, did not have a sack
The NFL has handed down punishment for the sideline dust-up involving Kansas City Chiefs RB coach Greg Lewis and Cleveland Browns DB Ronnie Harrison.
According to a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the league fined Harrison $12,128 for shoving Lewis on the Chiefs’ sideline. Harrison was flagged and ultimately ejected from the game for his part in the incident. Lewis, however, wasn’t flagged or fined by the league. He did receive a stern warning from the league per Pelissero, citing that any further violations would result in some form of discipline
