Derek Carr was right. This year's #Raiders team is different than the ones that collapsed in 2019 and 2020. Those teams never lost by 39+ points
And of course newly extended Daniel Carlson misses the extra point.
Josh Jacobs has played 100% of the offensive snaps
Carr and K.J. Wright clearly weren't in favor of dancing on the Chiefs logo before the game, but they said they wanted to support their teammates who did.
Foster Moreau bobbled what should have been a catch and Tyrann Mathieu picked it off. This has just been a disaster for the #Raiders.
Solomon Thomas shares his story of the loss of his sister and his own battles with mental health. @SollyThomas90's mission is to spread awareness about suicide prevention and created @TDefensiveLine foundation in honor of his late sister. pic.twitter.com/qToQnzmBZa
Divine Deablo is starting in place of Denzel Perryman in nickel packages for the #Raiders. Big opportunity for the rookie the last two weeks. Gus Bradley is still leaning on single high safety looks.
98% of the snaps, but only 13 yards for Foster Moreau. Come back soon, Darren Waller.
Brandon Parker got pushed back like two yards into Carr. Really bad start for the @Raiders offensive line. Can't be aggressive when you're getting blown up up front.
Alex Leatherwood got his lunch eaten on that sack...
The Chiefs took notice of the Raiders' Yannick Ngakoue giving a pregame speech to his teammates at Kansas City's logo and said it motivated them in their 48-9 victory over Las Vegas.
It appears play-calling is not an issue today. Neither is execution. The Chiefs lead the Raiders 21-0 after Clyde Edwards-Helaire's 5-yard touchdown run.
As @cdotharrison suggested with me Friday, Darrel Williams appears to be the Chiefs' 3rd-best passing option. He scores on a simple swing route for a 23-yard touchdown reception. The Chiefs lead the Raiders 14-0.
The Kansas City Chiefs have officially downgraded CB L’Jarius Sneed to out for the team’s Week 14 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Sneed was listed as questionable on Saturday following news of the death of his older brother TQ Harrison in their hometown of Minden, Louisiana. Sneed traveled back to Minden on Saturday, on a jet provided by Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and he currently remains there with his family according to reports from KC Star beat writer Sam McDowell.
CB L’Jarius Sneed has been ruled out for non-injury related reasons (personal). https://t.co/heiwIdruq
FUMBLE! That was a BIG hit by Alex Okafor!
Harrison Butker makes the field goal to extend our lead to 41-9. #ProBowlVote pic.twitter.com/PESamh77EV
Chiefs cornerback L'Jarius Sneed will not play today, I'm told. He remains back home in Minden with family after his brother's death.
Josh Gordon just scored his first TD since Sept. 8, 2019.
Tyrann Mathieu on the Raiders' pregame actions: "I don't think champions act in that manner."
Mike Hughes on the Raiders' vexing gesture on the Chiefs' midfield logo: "That's pretty disrespectful."
"He's being ticketed for speeding right there" @richeisen on Andy Reid 😂 pic.twitter.com/WBaSsLBTGN
Did you see that pass rush by Melvin Ingram? Holy smokes.
Tyreek Hill is out of the blue medical tent & has his helmet.
Here are the Chiefs' inactives for today's game against Las Vegas: CB Dicaprio Bootle QB Shane Buechele CB L'Jarius Sneed OL Kyle Long OT Prince Tega Wanogho
As noted on the broadcast, Raiders were in the two-see safety look. Dallin Leavitt in as the third safety and defended Travis Kelce on the third-down pass. Gus Bradley mixing it up.
Mecole Hardman. Deep. Mahomes finds him for a 44-yard gain.
The offensive line has just been terrible today. Carr got hit again, this time by Tershawn Wharton and Clark, and the #Raiders punt. Not gonna be able to get anything going if the big guys up front don't turn it around.
Rashad Fenton rotated in with the No. defense behind Deandre Baker and Josh Jackson. Wouldn't be surprised if Chiefs limit Fenton to a rotational nickel role today with eye toward keeping him fresh for Thursday night vs. Chargers.
The Chiefs pass rush generated a season-high 34.7% team pressure rate today vs Raiders, 17 total pressures, tied for most by KC in a game this season. Frank Clark finished with a team-high 7 pressures, his most pressures in a game since Week 17, 2019. #SFvsCIN | #ChiefsKingdom pic.twitter.com/y7q1IncbyZ
Lucas Niang is active, but Andrew Wylie is warming up with the Chiefs' first-team offensive line right now. No big surprise.
Love watching Trey Smith look for work - juuuuust a little bump 😉 pic.twitter.com/PpU8n6DJIS
The recent winning streak from the Kansas City Chiefs has the football world noticing and quickly adjusting their Super Bowl projections. The catalyst behind the wins has been the exceptional play from the defense, holding teams to minimal points in each of their last five games.
A bonus throughout the streak has been the reemergence of safety Juan Thornhill, who has shown signs of improvement in his return from an ACL injury that occurred almost two years ago. Since the injury, Thornhill has struggled to regain the elite form he showcased as a rookie in 2019. The Chiefs’ defensive back spoke about his versatility and improved play during Friday’s press conference
