Dolphins coach Brian Flores' uncle was a FDNY firefighter, who was on sick leave Sept. 11, 2001 when his house - Ladder 118 - was one of the first to respond to the World Trade Center. Nobody from Ladder 118 came out of the towers that day. Flo's shirt today had meaning. pic.twitter.com/plhfCPWHuN

The 65-yard pass from @Tua to @MackHollins is the longest of both of their careers. It's the longest completion for the @MiamiDolphins this season after @Tua found Albert Wilson for a 64-yard gain last week vs. Baltimore.

With the Miami Dolphins leading the New York Jets 21-14 in the fourth quarter of their Week 11 contest, Brian Flores’ defense lost one of their more important players.
The team announced that safety Brandon Jones went out with an elbow and his return to game action was questionable. Veteran defensive back Eric Rowe came into the game to replace the second-year safety.
Jones made a huge impact play earlier in the game when he forced Joe Flacco to fumble on a blindside hit that popped the ball into Christian Wilkins’ hands
The 3-7 Miami Dolphins are set to take on the 2-7 New York Jets on Sunday afternoon at Metlife Stadium with an opportunity to win their third game in a row.
For the matchup, the Dolphins listed five players as inactive including running back Salvon Ahmed.
Ahmed joins cornerback Noah Igbinoghene, linebacker Darius Hodge, tight end Hunter Long, and defensive tackle John Jenkins, as the players who will not see action in this game.
Miami’s running back room hasn’t seen much success lately, so the Dolphins are opting to go with a mix of Myles Gaskin, Patrick Laird, and Duke Johnson who was elevated from the practice squad yesterday

Johnson rushed once for five yards and caught his only target for eight yards in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Dolphins.
Johnson was largely phased out of the offense as Michael Carter played a three-down role for most of the game, but Carter exited late with an ankle injury. If Carter's not ready to return in Week 12 against the Texans, Johnson would likely return to the prominent pass-catching role he's played in recent weeks, having posted five-plus receptions in three of the past five games.

The Jets will host a fellow bottom-feeder on Sunday when the Dolphins visit MetLife Stadium, but Miami still poses a threat.
One of these teams is almost certain to finish last in the division, but Miami (3-7) is on a two-game winning streak following a six-game losing streak earlier this season. New York (2-7) is coming off back-to-back blowout losses in which the defense gave up 45 points in each game. The Jets will also start Joe Flacco, their third quarterback this season.
Not much has gone well for the Jets this year, but the Dolphins offer a few matchups Gang Green could exploit. With that in mind, here are six bold predictions for the Jets in Week 11
Oh that is bad from Ashtyn Davis. Really, really bad. He couldn't even push him out of bounds. I have no idea how that happened. Busted coverage, but then to try to push him out and instead push him forward? Yikes.
Coleman rushed five times for 16 yards and caught his lone target for two yards in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Dolphins.
Coleman posted a forgettable stat line, but it's noteworthy that Ty Johnson only got one rushing attempt to Coleman's five, because starter Michael Carter exited the game with an ankle injury. If Carter's forced to miss additional time, Coleman would likely take over as the primary early down running back for the Jets for an appetizing Week 12 matchup with the Texans.
John Franklin-Myers said Tua beat the #Jets by throwing up "prayers" and "sometimes prayers are answered."
Flacco - Crowder. Touchdown #Jets. Nice job by Corey Davis taking a chunk of #Dolphins defense inside to free that up.

#Jets insider: I caught up with Saleh to discuss the team's rebuilding plan. Recent NFL history is on the Jets' side … White's future … Specific conditions of the Flacco trade … Are they under-utilizing Quinnen Williams? espn.com/blog/new-york-…
Saleh said that Jarrad Davis is not all the way back yet. That's why he wasn't playing. #Jets
T Morgan Moses (ankle) is questionable to return #MIAvsNYJ
Terence Steele will start at LT, La'el Collins is the RT and yes Connor McGovern will be the LG today. Connor Williams is benched.
Looks like Zach Wilson (knee) is doing the same pre-game workout as last week, which includes sprinting. Has a brace on right knee. Will be inactive today. #Jets
The Dolphins are trying to Mike White the Jets to death.
LB Quincy Williams introduced with starters as well. Looks like the Jets are making several lineup changes today.
Looks like Elijah Riley will start at safety judging from pregame warmups.
