Godwin (foot) brought in seven of eight targets for 57 yards in the Buccaneers' 29-19 loss to Washington on Sunday.
While some of his other offensive teammates looked like they still had a bit of bye-week hangover, Godwin, playing through a foot issue, checked in second in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon. The fifth-year wideout has been consistently busy of late, as he now has at least seven receptions and eight targets in four of the last five games. Godwin should be a bit healthier by the time a Week 11 home Monday night matchup against the Giants kicks off.
Buccaneers announced CB Richard Sherman is out for today's game due to a calf injury.
#GoBucs aren't catching the football. Giovani Bernard with the drop. Ryan Succop with 25-yard FG. 13 plays, 68 yards. WFT 13, Bucs 3.
Mike Evans' career high in eight NFL seasons was set here at FedEx his rookie year -- 209 yards on seven catches (with two touchdowns) in Bucs' 27-7 win over Washington in 2014. twitter.com/jakmartin88/st…
From @ESPNStatsInfo: Hunter Henry's 7th receiving TD this season are the most through the Patriots' first 10 games since 2015 (both Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman did it that year).
"The stupidity has to go away," Bruce Arians says after today's loss. Said Bucs are a "very dumb" team and that's a reflection of coaching.
Also have the Bucs seen enough of Leonard Fournette as a check down receiver? twitter.com/joshnorris/sta…
Today's Bucs-Washington inactives: QB Kyle Trask, S Andrew Adams, G Nick Leverett, WR Antonio Brown, TE Rob Gronkowski and DT Steve McLendon. Elevated from the practice squad: WR Breshad Perriman and TE Darren Fells.
Team captain Lavonte David on the defense on Washington's last drive: "Bad football. We had a chance to get off the field and we didn't."
Coming out of their Week 9 bye, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were hoping to eliminate the costly penalties that had plagued them so far this season.
When tight end O.J. Howard committed a false start on the first play of Sunday’s game against the Washington Football Team, it was a sign of things to come, and proof that the defending Super Bowl champions still hadn’t fixed their biggest problem.
The Bucs were penalized six times for 43 yards in Sunday’s ugly 29-19 loss, but many of those flags came in critical situations that led directly to a second straight defeat
It comes in a loss, but Bucs' Devin White finished with 18 tackles against Washington, including two sacks, three TFLs and three QB hits. Lavonte David had 14 tackles and a forced fumble.
Add this to the loss: Vita Vea was carted off the field with an injury.
CB Dee Delaney is OUT for the remainder of the game (concussion). pic.twitter.com/c1Gb3zzpJA
So Tyler Johnson just isn't happening. 3 for 17 today despite playing 67% of the snaps.
Ronald Jones played one snap today. He'll be a 24-year-old unrestricted free agent in a few months.
Richard Sherman is lining up with the starting defense for Bucs in pregame warmups. Looks like he'll be back in opposite Jamel Dean against Washington today.
Ryan Griffin called for holding on a run that didn't gain yards.
WR Breshad Perriman and TE Darren Fells, both of whom were signed to the practice squad this Wednesday and elevated for the game on Saturday, are active.
BOMB from Brady to Jaelon Darden for 29 yards. Gets the Bucs in Washington territory for the first time today.
Bucs' sack goes to Ndamukong Suh. Their fifth sack today and Washington has third-and-16 from their 2.
#Bucs starting OLBs today ... Jason Pierre-Paul - 1 tackle, 0 sacks Shaq Barrett - 0 tackles, 0 sacks
Nice play by a blitzing Mike Edwards to bat down a screen pass. Third and 4 from midfield.
Joe Tryon-Shoyinka was closest Bucs player and is credited with his third sack of the season.
A second sack for Bucs defense -- Anthony Nelson gets Heinicke for loss of 6.
No -- Scotty Miller and Sean Murphy-Bunting are still on injured reserve, so they don't show up on inactives. Both are close to returning but weren't activated for today's game. twitter.com/SlytherinIdiot…
The initial fear for Washington DE Chase Young is a torn ACL, source said. The team is awaiting a full battery of tests, but if the diagnosis is confirmed, that would, of course, knock him out for the season.
J.D. McKissic is such a weapon. Huge catch on 4th and short to covert and keep the drive alive. Washington needs this pic.twitter.com/2LpQzsxOtG
Washington signed Fitzpatrick, 38, to a 1-year, $10 million contract this offseason hoping he'd address the short-term QB needs. Then 21 game minutes into the season, gone. Taylor Heinicke remains the starter but have to think Kyle Allen gets a shot soon if losses keep piling up.
What a freaking catch by Terry McLaurin. Takes a huge hit over the middle to convert on 3rd down and give Washington a huge chance of winning this game pic.twitter.com/eIY3wUlkx7

Washington Football Team QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is not expected to return this season because of the hip injury he suffered in September, sources say. My story with all the details: nfl.com/news/washingto…
Gibson rushed 24 times for 64 yards and two touchdowns and brought in both targets for 14 yards in Washington's 29-19 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Gibson put an exclamation point on Washington's upset win against the defending champs with his second one-yard touchdown of the contest. The score capped off a 19-play, 80-yard march that absorbed 10:26 of the fourth quarter and saw Gibson log a whopping nine carries. Gibson's multi-score tally was his second of the season, abut he'll have a significant roadblock in trying to replicate it against a stingy Panthers defense in Week 11.
Washington's injured starters: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (IR; hip) TE Logan Thomas (IR; hamstring) WR Curtis Samuel (groin) C Chase Roullier (IR, broken fibula) DE Chase Young (knee) DE Montez Sweat (IR, jaw) LB Jon Bostic (IR; pec)
Injury update: Ricky Seals-Jones has a hip injury is questionable to return
Lineup changes for Washington: C Tyler Larsen (in place of Chase Roullier) WR DeAndre Carter (in place of Curtis Samuel) RT Cornelius Lucas (in place of Sam Cosmi)
Injury update: Brandon Scherff is questionable to return with a knee injury
Bobby McCain on the Bucs winning the toss and taking the ball: "Lets you know they don't think you're worth a shit."
How much will Washington miss Montez Sweat (out with a jaw injury) today vs. Bucs? In playoff game in January, Sweat had a sack, two TFLs, two QB hits, four tackles. Chase Young, for all the pregame talk, had three tackles, no sacks.
Terrible penalty by William Jackson -- Evans was going out of bounds for the end of the half, took him down by his facemask. Gives the Bucs an untimed down and field goal to cut the lead to 10 at the half.
Washington WR Dyami Brown (knee), who was listed as questionable vs. Tampa, will play, per source.
So. Joey Slye has some wheels on him, and ends up being the one to force Darden out on that kickoff return.
Tune in NOW! @JPFinlayNBCS has @WashingtonNFL's Jonathan Allen around to talk about the big upset win against the Bucs & more! 📲bit.ly/3kE3hFv pic.twitter.com/hZm1Zd11iZ
Rough rep by Kendall Fuller, who had been playing pretty well until now. Takes outside leverage, not sure he expected Evans to try and get outside, but Evans skipped by him way too easily. 40-yard TD gets the Bucs back into it pic.twitter.com/fan80qKf0N
Now John Bates fumbled while fighting for yards along the sideline. Initial ruling is a fumble recovery for the Bucs... ... but Washington's offense is coming back on the field as refs look at the replay. Elbow hit the ground before the fumble. Washington keeps the ball.
Phenomenal diving catch by Adam Humphries to move the chains with a five-yard reception on 3rd-and-4. Firm, anticipatory throw by Heinicke too. #washingtonfootball is trying to salt this game away, leading by 4 and now in the redzone.
Cornelius Lucas will start at RT for Washington. Sam Cosmi is active and will be available in emergency situation, per team. Cosmi is coming back from an ankle injury.
