Jack Eichel Tweaks Ankle
During Monday's game against the Washington Capitols, Buffalo Sabres center Jack Eichel tweaked his ankle during overtime. This is not something that Buffalo Sabres fans wanted to see.
Eichel just returned to the ice after missing the first 22 games of the season with a high ankle sprain. Taking the ice for four games is barely enough time to get back in your regular groove of playing, let alone dealing with a new injury. Eichel left the ice and was clearly in pain as he stood in the box while the play continued. Not wanting to let his team or fans down, he returned to the ice to finish the game.
After playing through the pain, Eichel acknowledged that he will need to get used to his ankle bothering him because he isn't fully healed. Playing through the pain is part of hockey and he realizes that.
As it stands right now, Eichel will not miss any time on the ice, and will play against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.
