Week 17 FAAB Waiver Wire Pickups: How Much To Spend On Gardner Minshew, Zack Moss & More Heading Into Championship Week!
If you are still alive in the fantasy football postseason, congratulations! You have made the fantasy football finals! Let's take a look at the best waiver-wire options available as we gear up for championship week!
Week 17 Quarterbacks To Target
Gardner Minshew III, Philadelphia Eagles
Minshew played very well against Dallas in a losing effort on Saturday. The Eagles will not be rushing Jalen Hurts back anytime soon as they need to make sure he’s healthy for their Super Bowl run. The Saints' defense will provide a stiff challenge but I think Minshew is good for about 18 to 22 fantasy points and I would not hesitate to play him. FAAB: 60% He’s the best left so pay up!
Mike White, New York Jets
The Zach Wilson nightmare is over for the Jets and Mike White is expected to be back as the team’s starter against Seattle on Sunday. Seattle's defense has been very topsy-turvy over the past six weeks and the Jets are desperate for a win so look for White to air it out as much as possible. FAAB: 40% I like Minshew slightly more but I would go with most of what you have left.
Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
Purdy continues to show confidence in the pocket and an ability to find his receivers downfield. Considering the 49ers have some of the best play calling in the league I feel confident recommending him as someone that you can start in your fantasy playoffs. FAAB: 20%

Week 17 Running Backs To Target
Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears
We saw what the Carolina Panthers did to the Detroit Lions run defense and although I don't expect the same result in Week 17 there is a solid chance that Herbert gets about 10 to 15 carries with the possibility of a touchdown. I've mentioned on numerous occasions that I think he's more talented than David Montgomery. Now that he has a game under his belt after returning from injury, he should be getting more opportunities. FAAB: 20%
Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers
Hubbard's recent play that has inspired the Panthers' offense. He ran for 125 yards last week on only 12 carries and he's a very good receiver out of the backfield. In a must-win game against Tampa, I can see Hubbard being heavily involved as he might be needed to be used out of the backfield more as a receiver. FAAB: 30%
Zack Moss, Indianapolis Colts
Taylor will miss the rest of the season so it looks like Moss will have the starting job to himself. He received the bulk of the carries against the Chargers and should be heavily involved as the Colts try to decide whether to keep him around as their RB2 next season. FAAB: 25%
Week 17 Wide Receivers To Target
Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers
I have my doubts that Christian Watson will be able to suit up against Minnesota in Week 17 due to a hip injury. If this is the case, then Dobbs will immediately go right into the starting lineup against the Vikings' porous pass defense. Keep your eye on this injury situation as Dobbs may be a potential league winner if he gets the start. FAAB: 80% if you think Watson is out. 50% of you want to hedge
Isaiah Hodgins, New York Giants
A few weeks back I mentioned Hodgins as someone I liked due to his size and familiarity with Brian Daboll’s offense. He played very well against Minnesota and I like his chances to see a ton of targets against the Colts. Hodgins may have earned himself a place on the Giants roster for 2023 and beyond. FAAB: 10%
Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans Saints
Shaheed has evolved into the Saints WR2 right now. He is their main deep threat and I can see him having some success against the Eagles on the road. FAAB: 10%
Elijah Moore, New York Jets
I am hopeful that Moore will continue to build his connection with Mike White. Look for him to get another 10-14 fantasy points in Seattle next week. FAAB: 15%
Demarcus Robinson, Baltimore Ravens
We've seen Robinson have some excellent games when he was with the Chiefs but then he often disappeared because there were so many other terrific players in their offense. Right now there's a serious lack of talent on the Ravens roster and he seems to be the WR1. He has a solid matchup against the Steelers so I would not be afraid to use him next Sunday night if you are in a deeper league. FAAB: 20%

Week 17 Tight Ends To Target
Hayden Hurst, Cincinnati Bengals
I often list players here who I think have been dropped earlier for one reason or another. Hurst hasn't played the last few games due to injury but is expected back against Buffalo. It’s a tough matchup but Joe Burrow does look his way in the red zone. FAAB: 20%
Tyler Conklin, New York Jets
I don't think there's a tight end in fantasy football who has a better last two-game matchup advantage than Conklin. The Jets play the Seahawks and the Dolphins who are two of the worst three teams against opposing tight ends. I think he's a terrific waiver wire addition if you need a tight end. FAAB: 60% if you need a TE; 20% to keep your opponent from getting him
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints
Johnson has turned into Andy Dalton's favorite receiver in the red zone. Although he can be highly inconsistent, there are some weeks where he can catch multiple touchdown passes (like he did in Week 15) which places him high on our fantasy radar. FAAB: 20%
