NFL Week 1 Injury Report Heading Into Sunday's Games
We’ve only had one game in Week 1 and as a result, few injuries have occurred so far this season. Still, here are a few guys who made it on their team’s IR, and are either doubtful, GTDs, or questionable heading into Sunday’s games.

QB Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (Ankle Soreness)
Dak Prescott made it on the Cowboys’ IR as a result of a sore ankle he reported having in practice. Prescott said that he feels great and that he felt pain in his ankle as a result of a new pair of cleats he was either breaking into or were too small. Prescott is fine and is set to make the start for the Cowboys this Sunday.
It's very misleading of the NFL to force Prescott’s name on that list just because he reported some ankle discomfort, especially taking into consideration his history with those types of injuries.
QB Zach Wilson, New York Jets (Fractured Kneecap, Out)
Zach Wilson fractured his kneecap late in training camp which will prevent him from being the team’s QB for the first few weeks of the 2022 season. In fact, current reports indicate that Wilsom will likely remain out of the Jets lineup until Week 4. This means that veteran QB Joe Flacco will start in his place on Sunday and probably for the next two weeks. It will be interesting to see how Joe Flacco performs especially taking into consideration
WR Drake London, Atlanta Falcons (Knee, GTD)
The Falcons will decide tomorrow whether or not to activate rookie WR Drake London against the New Orleans Saints this Sunday. London was listed as a limited participant in Wednesdays’ practice. It was head coach Arthur Smith who said that the Falcons would hold off on making a decision about London until the weekend. Consider him a game time decision who we’ll likely find out about by Saturday afternoon rather than an hour before the football game.
WR Allen Lazard, Green Bay Packers (Ankle, Doubtful)
Wide receiver Allen Lazard is currently listed as doubtful for the Green Bay Packers due to an ankle injury. Lazard was inadvertently stepped on during a play in practice to sustain this injury. Expect a pretty unpredictable combination of Christian Watson, Randall Cobb, Sammy Watkins, and Romeo Doubs to split targets from Aaron Rodgers on Sunday. Even if Lazard suits up on Sunday, he could be limited in the game. Regardless, let’s call it a 90% chance that Lazard doesn’t play for the Packers in Week 1. Therefore, Aaron Rodgers will be without his top receiver to kick off the season. Personally, I really want to see Sammy Watkins with a multi-touchdown game, because why not?
WR Diontae Johnson, Pittsburgh Steelers (Shoulder, GTD)
For two consecutive practices this week, WR Diontae Johnson was limited in Steelers’ practices. With Juju Smith-Schuster out of the picture in 2021, Johnson went off for 1,161 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He is currently a game time decision for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ opening game of the season. If Johnson doesn’t suit up on Sunday, Chase Claypool could be getting a lot more targets for the Steelers. In fact, he stated that he’d be ready to get more reps if needed.
