Texans cut Foreman
NEWS: The big news over the weekend was that the Houston Texans cut RB D'Onta Foreman.
ANALYSIS: Surprised? Not really. Look if Foreman was anywhere near as legit as we hoped he'd be, he would have overtaken Lamar Miller by now. Entering what would've been his third season, this was "supposed" to be the year he got it together. But a lot of people thought that would happen back in 2017 and again in 2018.
The real question is whether or not the Texans really like their backups that much or were they just really sick of Foreman? Maybe both? That's the thing about this game. Even if a coach doesn't like a guy's personality or work ethic, if he's better than the backup, that's all there is to it. I suspect the Texans got a look at their fresh crop of backs and see a spark in someone so this is a situation I'll be watching. This isn't to imply that Miller's starting job is on the line, but it is possible! Let's put it this way: If Houston saw a bunch of scrubs at the RB position, do you think they'd just cut Foreman for underperforming or having a bad attitude or whatever the problem was? It just makes sense to me that they saw something they really liked and Foreman became expendable.

Texans not interested in trading for Gordon
NEWS: Texans end speculation they are in the market for Melvin Gordon.
ANALYSIS: Even though Foreman is gone, the Texans are not shopping for Gordon and are only interested in acquiring a backup for Miller. You'd have to REALLY like Gordon to trade something for him then have to turn around an sign him to an eight-figure contract. Gordon most recently went with the 34th pick in the latest high-stakes draft over at FullTime Fantasy. Austin Ekeler went at 72 and Justin Jackson at 125.
Before you hit accept or reject on that trade offer, why not plug it into the Trade Analyzer tool to see its recommendation? Maybe you can add a little more to the deal to sweeten your end!
Luck recovering slowly from calf injury
NEWS: Andrew Luck recently said in an interview he has "no" doubts about playing in Week 1 and continued to say, I certainly believe I will," Luck said. "That’s certainly the goal."
ANALYSIS: Luck has been nursing this injury for months now. Not sure how a calf strain can linger for this long. We're still about a month away from the season so you shouldn't hit the red alert button..... yet.
Quick Fantasy Hot-Takes
Chiefs HC complimented Carlos Hyde for "taking advantage" of opportunity in Damien Williams' absence. Williams continues to rehab a hamstring injury and although Hyde is an underwhelming Fantasy asset, he would get a huge early season bump if Kansas City needs him, even for only a game or two.
DK Metcalf was injured Friday and then sat out Saturday with oblique strain. Sounds like a day-to-day injury. Still cautious optimistic about Metcalf in this offense. Let's bear in mind, the Seahawks aren't exactly overflowing with WR talent.
Antonio Brown (foot) considered day-to-day. Lot of swirling risk around this situation. New team, new offense, new QB, new coach. Lots of offseason drama. But maybe it's all for the sake of a more entertaining to watch season of Hard Knocks? I'm down for that.
Josh Rosen "just might be" the starter. I guess we'll see about that today. This Miami offense is sounding a lot like Arizona's offense last year. I wonder why?
