Waiver Wire Week 5 Pickups
Now that week four is wrapped up, we are full steam ahead into week five! By now you know that hitting the waiver wire and grabbing the best available guys is an absolute must! Fantasy football gets harder each and every year, whether its from injuries, suspensions, or just plain bad luck and staying on top of your team is necessary. Here are this week's top waive wire players to target.
Let's start down south with the Tampa Bay Bucs and Jameis Winston. Winston has officially been named the starter for week five and he is an absolute steal at this point! He is owned in 13% of leagues, so if you need a quarterback look no further. Over the years Winston has had some good games and some down right dreadful ones, he shouldn't be used as your number one. If you are dealing with a bye week this week or next, Winston should be a good fill in. He will put the ball in the air enough times with Evans and Jackson out there to haul it in.
In the land of running backs you have some options this week. Nick Chubb on the Cleveland Browns made the most of his playing time the other day, and people want to see more from the new back. He had three snaps and turned that into 105 yards and two touchdowns which is crazy! Chubb is owned in 24% of leagues and being started in 4%. Look for this number to increase this week.
Tarik Cohen on the Chicago Bears is already owned in 69% of leagues, but if he is available in yours, pick him up. He had one touchdown, rushed for 53 yards and had 121 receiving yards caught from Trubisky. Cohen excelled on all levels during Sunday's huge game and he will definitely be called on more in the coming weeks.
Another running back to take a look at this week is Nyheim Hines over on the Colts. Hines rushed for ten yards, but managed to haul in nine of eleven targets for two touchdowns and 63 yards. The Colts don't have much going on for their run game, but Hines is showing he will get the ball and do work. He is owned in 28% of leagues and being started across 31%. He will get fantasy points moving forward and should be a decent back to add.
The last running back on our list this week is Seahawk Mike Davis. Davis earned his spot in the running back rotation after Sunday's win against the Arizona Cardinals. Davis rushed for 101 yards had two touchdowns and caught four passes during the game. He is owned in only 3% of leagues which makes him a great easy guy to grab. Coach Pete Carroll will rely on Davis and Chris Carson moving forward, so expect his production level to go up significantly.
Over in the world of wide receivers we see Chicago Bear Taylor Gabriel being a potential hot pickup this week. Gabriel had two touchdowns for 104 yards in the blowout against the Bucs. It was clear to anyone watching the game that Gabriel had the speed and hands to get the ball to the end zone. He is owned in 12% of leagues and being started in 24%. If you are looking to fill a spot for a bye week, Gabriel would be a nice addition. It is hard to say if his value will continue to go up, but let's wait and see.
Keke Coutee is the last guy on our list for this week. Wide receivers were not in abundance this week, but Coutee shows promise. In his debut with the Houston Texans, he had 11 passes hauled in for 109 yards. His value looks to go up this week because Will Fuller will most likely be sidelined for week five. Coutee is owned in 24% of leagues and should see the ball a lot this week. He is a sold third receiver and possibly could move into the second slot.
That's all the waivers for this week! Good luck to all in week five! Enjoy!
