DeAndre Hopkins Still Out

Lesley Tedeschi Aug 21st 2:25 PM EDT.

The Houston Texans are once again without wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins injured his hand during the August 9th preseason opener and has not been on the field since.

There has been no indication that Hopkins will miss the start of the season. The Texans are able to be cautious and allow him to get as much recovery time as he needs during preseason. Being off the field before the start of the season isn't always great, but Hopkins is a veteran and should be able to get back on the field and contribute.

The one downside to Hopkins being sidelined is he isn't getting as much time with his quarterback Tom Savage. The Texans have struggled the past few seasons with their quarterbacks, and are hoping that Savage is the solution.
