What's Next for Brandon Marshall
As of Friday, the New York Jets released veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall. The Jets have been working at cutting big names and paychecks during the offseason. Long time Jet Nick Mangold was released alongside Darelle Revis and kicker Nick Folk.
Marshall is no stranger to being released and signing with a new team, however after 11 seasons in the NFL is now the time to make a move off the field?
We've all seen or heard Marshall on Inside the NFL as an analyst, and most agree he does a great job. He has the knowledge of what is happening on the field today and is able to be mostly objective. Marshall's personality on camera works, and he seemed to seamlessly fit in with the rest of the team. So should he pursue a full time position on screen and off the field? According to Marshall he isn't ready to leave the field and wants to continue to play until the age of 38 or 39. He has yet to reach the postseason even though he has been a top receiver over the years.
During this last season with the Jets, Marshall struggled with injury and wasn't able to make big plays. When he was with the Bears he was their top receiver and was electric on the field. Marshall has struggled with himself over the years, mainly his temper. He has admitted he has issues and has learned to control himself. He isn't perfect and had a few flare ups with teammates this past year.
There is no doubt that Brandon Marshall will be involved in football for years to come. It will be exciting to see where he lands next!
