Jimmy Garoppolo, the gunslinger
Jimmy Garoppolo is on the trading block, and apparently Julian Edelman thinks he's a stud. Sure, Garoppolo did play well when called upon, but Julian is pushing the limits and is surely trying to hype up the potential trade bait.
Earlier in the playoffs, it was announced that the Patriots would entertain trades for Garoppolo. Now, Edelman is doing his best to help the Patriots get all they can for him. So far the Browns and Texans have been rumored to be interested.
So what does Julian think of Jimmy?
"The guy is a stud. He went out and played in the regular season and played very well. He has that kind of gunslinger-like confidence, that Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers kind of confidence," Edelman said Tuesday night on NFL Network.
Ridiculously high praise for a guy who only played two games before getting injured. Julian is clearly doing his job in the off-season, and that's to help his team get the best talent possible in a trade.
All kidding aside, Garoppolo does seem like he may have what it takes to be a starter in this league. However, he carries a lot of question marks and risk to whatever team may take the chance on him.
