Panthers Add Safety Stevie Brown
The Caroline Panthers have been working out safeties over the past several days, and have signed free agent Stevie Brown to a one year deal.
Starters Kurt Coleman and Tre Boston are injured and the Panthers need depth at the safety position. Donte Whitner and Major Wright also worked out for the team, but ultimately Stevie Brown earned the spot.
The backup safety Dean Marlowe is dealing with a hamstring injury that has kept him out of action for the past three weeks. Moving forward Brown will be the go to guy. Brown hasn't seen much playing time since 2014. He played in eight games after coming off an ACL injury in 2013. His best year with the Giants was in 2012, and even during that season he only played 11 games.
Stevie Brown has shown the Panthers that he is still able to play and will be a help to the team.
