Teddy Bridgewater Suffers Injury
The Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffered an injury during Tuesday's practice on a non-contact drill. Bridgewater dropped back to pass, planted his foot and immediately went down.
The Vikings quarterback was quickly tended to as staff rushed over and began inflating an air cast. Bridgewater was seen holding his left leg, as teammates looked on. Practice was called off after a short time, due to the injury. An ambulance pulled into practice, but Bridgewater remained on the field.
The severity of the injury is not yet known, and coach Mike Zimmer will be addressing the media at 5 p.m.
Bridgewater is vital to the Vikings, as backup quarterback Shaun Hill hasn't seen much playing time in five years and is 36 years old. The Vikings made a good run into the playoffs last season and are counting on Bridgewater to take them further this season.
Over the course of the past two years the Vikings have seen a lot from Bridgewater and anticipated pushing him to the next level this year. They wanted to take him from game manager to being a playmaker. Hopefully the injury looked worse than it actually is.
For those who drafted Teddy Bridgewater, now would be a good time to hit the waiver wire and see who else is available.
