Can Cam Newton and the Panthers Repeat 2015 Offense?
Remember the high-flying Carolina Panther's offense from the 2015 season which lead the league in scoring at 31.3 points per game? Well, so far that Panther's offense remains elusive this preseason as was the case Friday night against the New England Patriots.
Cam Newton was awful completing just 13 passes of 29 for 100 yards and 2 interceptions. His favorite target Greg Olsen did not play in this game so do not expect this to be what to expect from Cam moving forward.
Perhaps the biggest takeaway from this game should be the New England Patriots defense (Patriots DST) which looks to be in midseason form. Those of you drafting a defense should look towards the Patriots as a potential #1 defense in fantasy for the 2016 season. Yes, they are that good.
As for the Panthers and Cam Newton's offensive outlook? They clearly aren't as bad as they looked yesterday, but their Week 1 matchup is by no means easy. Look for the Panthers and Cam Newton to be a top 3 offense by season's end.
Cam Newton will likely be the first quarterback selected in most drafts this season. Have a look at our ADPs for quarterbacks for more in depth information.
