Guards To Start
PG Josh Giddey, Oklahoma City Thunder
If you haven’t yet gotten to see Giddey’s talent as a ball-handler, then you’re missing out. Though still a rookie who needs to polish up his raw talent, he’s already recorded big numbers and helped OKC in major ways. He’s officially the youngest PG in NBA history to record a triple-double. Giddey has also scored in double-figures in every game this month. As a rookie, he’s shooting an average of 40.8% from the field. He’s shot a whopping 49.8 FG% over OKCs last 10 games, producing 14.3 points, 7.3 assists, and 8.4 rebounds through this stretch. As he’s averaging pretty close to a triple-double in 2022 and the OKC Thunder play four games in Week 14, make sure he’s ready to start Monday.
PG Kyrie Irving, Brooklyn Nets
While I told you all to keep Kyrie on your bench last week, I urge you to activate him in Week 14. The Nets have a full schedule on the road, which means that Kyrie Irving will be available for four contests this week. Since that is the case, you can bet on Kyrie to play around 30 minutes per game. He also only produced nine points of offense in his last contest, and I think he’ll be self-motivated to have a few big games this week. He’s due. This week, he’ll have the opportunity to do that four separate times. Although the Nets played four games last week, Kyrie only played in two contests and produced average numbers. You’re welcome. He has to be started this week, however, and I personally think he’s going to have a few big games this week. (my hot-take)
Guards To Sit
PG Jalen Green & Kevin Porter Jr., Houston Rockets
Both Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. in Houston are shooting less than 40% from the field this season. While Green is shooting a rough 39.7% from the field for 15 PPG, Porter Jr. is only converting an abysmal 37.3% of his shots taken from the field for 12.9 points per contest this season. As the Rockets only play two games this week, it makes no sense to activate these raw talents (at the very best…) for only two games worth of fantasy production in Week 14. In general, I think it is a pretty safe decision to stay away from these guys, who are producing way too many turnovers. Over the last ten games, Porter Jr. has averaged 3.1 TOs while Green has averaged 1.9TOs. Porter Jr. was absolutely careless with the basketball last night, tallying six TOs. He’s had 11 TOs over the last three games. Since the Rockets are only playing two games in Week, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to give them the nod.

Wings To Start
SF RJ Barrett, New York Knicks
Over the last two weeks, RJ Barrett has been the most important contributor on offense in the Knicks rotation. In his last 10 games, Barrett has averaged 22.2 PPG on 46% shooting from the field. He’s scored at least 26 points over his last three contests, which is notable as the Knicks have won their last three games in a row. NY will play Charlotte today, followed by the Timberwolves, Pelicans, and Clippers in the rest of the week. Each of these teams allows at least 81 FPTS of production to oppose forwards per game and are below average defenses according to Defensive Rankings at RJ’s position. Barrett is hot right now, and he has overall favorable match-ups in Week-14. He should be started on all platforms.
Wings To Sit
SF/SG Eric Gordon, Houston Rockets
Based solely on Houston playing two games in Week 14, you should make sure Gordon is on your bench this week. By no means is his performance an issue. Gordon is shooting well above 50% from the field and approximately 46% from beyond the arch. He’s probably one of the most efficient shooters in the NBA this season as he is recording career-high averages in shooting at the age of 33.
Bigs To Start
C Mitchell Robinson, New York Knicks
Mitchell Robinson has played better as of late. Over the last nine games, Robinson has averaged an 11.3-point and 10.1-rebound double-double. One of his main drawbacks is his awful FT%. He’s shot 46.2% from the free-throw line through this stretch of nine games. I think he’ll play well against the Hornets, who allow 30 FPTS per game facing centers. While the NBA Defensive rankings for centers don’t reveal a particularly advantageous schedule for Robinson in Week 14, he’s playing much better as of late and getting the nod from Thibedeau almost every night.
Bigs To Sit
PF/Cs Marvin Bagley III & Richaun Holmes, Sacramento Kings
As the Sacramento Kings play only two games in Week 14, it would be smart to keep Marvin Bagley III on your bench. He’s seen an uptick in minutes and production over the last few weeks because his teammate Richaun Holmes has been inactive. However, Holmes returned for his first contest back on Jan. 16, playing 16 minutes. Marvin Bagley III did not suit up for Sunday’s game and is questionable heading into Week 14. Even if Richaun Holmes is back and sees 30+ MPG in Week 14, he will only see two games. It is too unpredictable to activate any bigs on Sacramento’s roster in Week 14. The team only has two games, and the FPT production from both Bagley III and Holmes is too uncertain. Any big man seeing more than 20 MPG and plays at least three games in Week 14 is a better bet than the twin towers in Sacramento.
