Matt Barnes value increases after Rudy Gay injury

The news of Rudy Gay's torn Achilles tendon means that another Sacramento King needs to step up and fill the void.

Gay was second on the team in minutes played at 34.2, so he is offering up a lot of minutes that need to be filled. One of those player's to help fill those minutes should be Matt Barnes and Anthony Tolliver.

Barnes has been playing off the bench all season-long and his role could now be in the starting lineup. Barnes has been averaging 7.3 points, 2.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Another player in the mix for increased minutes would be power forward Anthony Tolliver. So far this season Tolliver has averaged 6.7 points, 1 assist, and 3.5 rebounds while playing 21.5 minutes per game.

Making a claim for either player would be a smart move, but we'd suggest going with Barnes first and taking a wait and see approach for Tolliver.
