Rodney blows first save, escapes with win

Brant Tedeschi Apr 11th 4:58 PM EDT.

The Houston Astros game versus Minnesota Twins got very interesting during the top of the 9th. Fernando Rodney gave up two hits, a walk, and two earned runs on his way to his first blown save.

Springer reached on fielder's choice to first off Rodney, Gattis and Davis scored, Springer to second, Gonzalez out at second on 2nd baseman Dozier fielding error.

Rodney was clearly bailed out of this one. The Twins won in the bottom of the 9th inning thanks to a walk-off home run from Max Kepler.

Rodney owners know that there will be ups and downs and this outing clearly was on the downside with a lucky win attached to his name.
