Closer Mark Melancon Back From DL
After being on the disabled list since May 9th, closer Mark Melancon is finally off of the disabled list. The San Francisco Giants activated the closer on Wednesday after he had been sidelined with a pronator strain near his right elbow.
Melancon threw a bullpen session recently and felt great afterwards, so his return to the mound happened a few days earlier than expected. The original date of Friday was pushed forward after Melancon insisted that he was ready to get back out there and that he feels great all around.
The Giants have no reason to keep Melancon off the mound, he is their closer and they are happy to have him back. He will be available on Wednesday night's game against the Dodgers.
