Addison Russell Scratched
The Chicago Cubs had a last minute scratch for Wednesday afternoon's game against the Rockies, Addison Russell. Russell is experiencing right shoulder soreness and the decision was made to let him rest.
Russell was slated to play at shortstop and bat sixth in the lineup. The Cubs made some infield adjustments to fill in the empty position. Over the course of Russell's three season's with the Cubs he has never been on the disabled list. It is an impressive stat to never have been on the disabled list, and the Cubs would like to keep that trend moving forward.
Russell should be considered day-to-day right now.
