CC Sabathia is worthy of a waiver pickup
Coming into the 2017 season, expectations were pretty low for CC Sabathia. While he did end last year on a pretty good run, he still ended up sporting a 3.91 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.
Sabathia started the 2017 campaign pitching solid against the Rays and ended the game with 5 innings, two strikeouts, and two walks while giving up no runs.
Buyer beware, this is not the Sabathia of old. He is now a finesse pitcher with his fastball velocity sitting at around at 91-92 mph. He had to redefine how he has pitched and it has showed the last couple of years as he struggled to find his groove.
Still, take a chance on Sabathia if you have the roster space.
The Yankees should be more competitive this year which means more wins possible for Sabathia. He will string together a couple of solid starts before having a game where he blows up. Play him while he's hot and bench him when things get rough.
