What makes Wanamaker, a 29-year-old rookie, a good fit for Boston?

Source sports.yahoo.com. | 52 mins ago.

Brad Wanamaker is one of the few new faces on the Boston Celtics roster, but that's OK. Unlike most rookies, Wanamaker is familiar with a couple of his new Celtics teammates (Marcus Morris from their days in Philadelphia, Daniel Theis from their time as teammates in Germany) which should help his acclimation to the team. There will be comparisons made between him and Marcus Smart in part because they both have a similar build, but let's be clear.: Wanamaker is a good defender, but he's not in the same class defensively as Smart (at least not yet).

Source sports.yahoo.com. | 13 hrs ago.

The Celtics surprised many last season when they surged to the top of the Eastern Conference despite a season-ending injury to Gordon Hayward. A huge part of that was the performance from Kyrie Irving, one that had him squarely in the MVP conversation. The Knicks aren't going to trade their draft picks anymore, which is a start

Source sports.yahoo.com. | 1 day ago.

Knicks president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry have decided to try a bold strategy: behaving like a normal NBA team. Over the past 18 seasons, the New York Knicks have won a single solitary playoff series. It was a first-round victory over the Boston Celtics in 2013, coming off a 54-win regular season in which early injuries forced coach Mike Woodson to play small with Carmelo Anthony at power forward alongside a two-point-guard backcourt in an offensively potent ball-moving and 3-point-shooting attack.

The Boston Celtics have 15 guaranteed contracts on the roster, the most they can carry into the season. The Celtics are not really looking to add a wing.
