Following his six-inning quality start on Friday for the Reds in a no-decision vs. the Cubs, Tim Adleman is tentatively scheduled to pitch again Wednesday at Milwaukee. But Rookie Davis could be activated from the 10-day disabled list to start instead.
Spin: Davis has been on the DL since April 12 with a right forearm contusion after being hit by a pitch the night before. His throwing program has progressed and he threw a bullpen session on Friday without issue. "I'm fine. I did my side yesterday, around 45 pitches of everything," Davis said. "I was able to throw everything with conviction. Everything was coming out really well. I didn't feel any fatigue. This morning I woke up and felt fine." Davis is slated to get one more bullpen session before a decision is made whether to activate him. "It's a contusion, so it's not like he had a sore elbow or shoulder," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "The swelling is gone. The soreness is gone. I don't anticipate any reason why Rookie wouldn't be ready to pitch by then. If that's the case, we'll make a decision then knowing we have the off-day [Thursday]. If we want to, we can adjust the rotation after the off-day."
