Yankees righty Masahiro Tanaka lost in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader vs. the Red Sox despite allowing just three runs on eight hits and no walks with nine strikeouts through 7 2/3 innings.
Spin: It's been a fairly confounding season for Tanaka, but the right-hander has been more good than bad lately. Over his past seven outings, he's tossed 43 2/3 innings with a 3.50 ERA and a 54-to-9 K/BB ratio. All but two of those seven outings have been quality starts, as Tanaka now looks to be showing the type of consistency that eluded him and made him such a risky option back in May. He should be active in all formats for his July 22 outing against the Mariners in Seattle.
